State Emigration

California is a mess. The liberals running this welfare palace came face to face with the taxpayers who couldn’t afford to escape. Mr. Obama, who read the national polls, won’t lend them a dime and the remaining California taxpayers shot down any increase in taxes.

The real problem that the California politicians have is that the citizens still have options. Businesses and the industrious are voting with their feet. They are clearing out in droves. And it is no surprise that the throngs of bureaucrats, illegal aliens and welfare recipients can’t find others to pay for their luxuries.

Michigan, New Jersey and Massachusetts have the same problem. They are running out of people willing to fund the blood suckers. Like California, the Democratic majorities running these welfare colonies thought the revenue stream was infinite.

They are beginning to see the flaw in their methodology. Raising taxes increases the burden on those who remain behind, which in turn accelerates the stampede. Once state revenues overreach their maximum elasticity the economies implode, infrastructures deteriorate, and unemployment hits the stratosphere.

The intelligent are bailing out of these welfare conclaves before there are no buyers for their homes and businesses. In the vernacular, they are getting out while the getting is good.

Now, the only hope for the liberals running these states is that Obama, Reid and Pelosi will bleed the other states dry. National healthcare, trillion dollar deficits, blanket amnesty, open borders, and Cap & Trade will pretty much crush private enterprise, which will curtail the appeal of the Red states.

Once the escape valve is closed the liberals believe they won’t have to compete in a free market. These clowns are in for a rude awakening. Capital and business will flee the US shores along with America’s best and brightest.

Innovation and capital investment drive the commerce which funds government. Pull this plug and diversity, multi-culturalism and affirmative action become moot.

Reverse discrimination and class warfare won’t immediately become antiquities. They will last until there is no income to redistribute and only second-rate candidates are available to fill the diminishing vacancies.

Be confident a few enterprising countries will see the opportunity that Obama, Reid and Pelosi are offering. They will put out the welcome mat for the Fortune 500, Wall Street and our engineers, scientists and medical practitioners.

And be equally assured that their welcome signs won’t include the US’ tired, poor and huddled masses yearning to breathe free. The agenda of Obama, Pelosi and Reid is to America what drought is to fertile land. They are a curse on the United States of America.
