Merry Christmas

Christmas is a noisy holiday with a quiet message, Peace on Earth and Goodwill to Men.

The Western World has sprinkled this Christian holy day with decorative lights, mistletoe and wreaths, carols and greeting cards, Santa and elves, gift giving and tales of a shiny nosed reindeer and a talking snowman.

Say what you will, these ingredients merely add to the festivity of this special birthday party. The glitter is a reminder of the joy of the season in a world in need of a welcome respite from the headlines.

With all these distractions, the message of Christmas remains translucent. Mankind was blessed. The salutation, Merry Christmas, reminds all that the world is blessed with a guiding light we call Jesus, the son of God.

It's nice to be reminded that someone has our backs. That's the real joy of Christmas. Merry Christmas!
