A Peek at the Price Tag

It seems that Mr. Obama’s campaign promise to only confiscate the income of the wealthy hit a mathematical roadblock. Class warfare got Obama elected, but it doesn’t pay the bills.

Reality is seeping into the White House’s surreal economic projections. Who would have guessed that annual trillion dollar deficits are not sustainable? But don’t kid yourself. Mr. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Barney and company knew monstrous tax increases were required to support the transition from capitalism to European styled socialism.

Of course, these utopian miscreants had hoped the reckoning would be delayed until after the 2010 congressional elections. This would have given them time to complete the reorganization before their supporters realized that their incomes were on the Treasury’s short list of available donors.

It seems that Obama’s timetable was based on the assumption that the government could temporarily suspend the laws of economics with unbridled spending. This would have extended the introduction of a Cap and Trade energy tax and a 10% national sales tax (VAT) beyond the election.

But nationalizing banks and the auto industry was capital intensive. Without huge infusions of funds, the integrity of the US monetary system will continue to deteriorate, along with the value of the dollar. And Geithner’s ponzi scheme of buying the US debt with freshly printed money didn’t fool the international investors.

The 52% of voters who trusted Obama’s promise of a free lunch didn’t realize their incomes would be on the menu. They are now looking down the barrel of the largest income redistribution scheme in the history of mankind.

Setting aside the segment of Obama supporters who have never contributed a penny to the government, nor have any plans for doing so, there sits about 40 million Democrats and Independents who are about to get a remedial lesson in arithmetic and political reality.

These are the well intentioned, fiscally illiterate, trusting fools who voted for change and wanted the bragging rights for electing a product raised on affirmative action. They got what they voted for, and they are about to take the beating of their lives.

Obama is driving the country down the only path with which he is familiar. He is turning affirmative action into a government prerequisite.

Of course, affirmative action is nothing more than government sponsored economic and political discrimination against the productive segment of society. In Middle America this group is commonly called working taxpayers.

The average family in America earns about $50,000. In addition to their current income, Social Security and Medicare contributions, excise and capital gains taxes, state and local sales, excise, property and income taxes, Obama and friends attempted to squeeze another $3000 from their net incomes for energy usage (Cap and Trade).

After those nasty conservatives pointed out that Cap and Trade was a tax concealed in environmental clothing, the proposal pretty much fizzled, but Waxman and Markey are still pushing it. Undaunted, Obama and friends are now floating a Value-Added Tax (VAT).

Its implementation would reduce the buying power of the average family at least 10% (about $5000). A VAT will guarantee decades of the same double digit unemployment, second rate healthcare and the flat-lined economies enjoyed by the prosperity-adverse Europeans.

Get prepared! Obama’s policies are fermenting a taxpayer revolt unlike anything America has experienced since the American Revolution. It’s going to get ugly.

Obama's Tax Guru

Seventy-five percent of the candidates for elementary teacher positions in Massachusetts failed mathematics in the entrance exam. Now here is a surprise. The academic establishment (read teachers union) blamed the test. The examination probably asked questions that involved numbers.

It’s difficult to conjure up the mental agility of a college graduate unprepared to teach arithmetic to a grade school pupil. It makes one wonder what they learned in four years. Let’s hope they didn’t go into debt for an education that they obviously didn’t receive.

They won’t qualify for one other government job in Massachusetts. Failing arithmetic pretty much disqualifies them from raking in $75,000 a year as a toll taker. Making change is obviously out of their league. But they shouldn’t be discouraged.

There is plenty of room for the arithmetically challenged in the budget offices of the state and towns. The state legislature automatically increases taxes to cover any revenue shortages, which negates the need to understand annual budgets. Besides, budgets are filled with near endless rows of numbers; so who really cares?

No one can remember if the state or any town in Massachusetts ever actually had a surplus, so the budget bureaucrats only need a rudimentary knowledge of subtraction.

Here is the exam question for the state treasurer. If the state collects $10 and spends $13 how much more revenue is needed to balance the budget? The answer would appear to be that $3 in additional taxes would cover the shortfall (For the recent college graduates: $13 - $10 = $3).

But we are talking about Massachusetts.

The calculation necessitates adding a minimum of 30% for graft and corruption, and at least 10% more for friends and family kickbacks. And then the traditional piling-on begins. For the politicians this is the prime season to sweeten the pot.

A couple of rounds of pay raises are always in order. And they never forget to fatten their retirement programs. And pay increases for teachers, police and firemen protect their careers.

This part of the equation makes taxpayers a bit testy, so the final costs are always underestimated for political reasons. They know that they can come back for more next year. This year the Massachusetts state legislature plans to increase the highway tolls, the state sales tax and taxes on gasoline and beer.

Rumor has it that Mr. Obama asked his good friend, Governor Deval Patrick, not to raise the state income tax as Obama wants these potential revenues reserved for the federal government. As a quid pro quo, Obama promised to start the printing presses to bailout Massachusetts’ extravagant welfare schemes.

Governor Patrick had to accept this deal. Every time Massachusetts increases the taxes on alcohol, gas and the state sales tax, more of its citizens head to New Hampshire to do their shopping. Governor Patrick figured it was about time the residents of New Hampshire started supporting Massachusetts. He is a big advocate of shared responsibility.

In addition, Governor Patrick’s lawsuit to force New Hampshire businesses to collect and forward sales taxes on purchases made by Massachusetts citizens is already winding its way through the courts.

And you were wondering from whom Obama, Barney Frank and Geithner got their tax and spend ideas.

Is GM a Prelude to America's Future?

Mr. Obama, Pelosi and Reid have already outspent the federal government’s ability to fund itself and the national debt without massive tax increases. And this fiscal depravity doesn’t include their pending national healthcare, amnesty and green energy schemes.

The bad news is just beginning. Be prepared for a barrage of defaults in the commercial real estate sector. Naturally Obama will guarantee that the taxpayers backstop the hemorrhaging, which will put the government’s head under the commercial property tent.

Equal Lending Opportunity legislation and the creation of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae sure worked well for home mortgages. So expect the taxpayers to soon be paying the rent for companies whose aspirations were greater than their business plans.

To that, add the new government guarantees for loans approved by bureaucrats in the Small Business Administration. The borrowers and banks no longer have any skin in the game. This scheme has all the merit of putting the leftwing scoundrels running ACORN (or Barney Frank) in charge of the Internal Revenue Service.

Now consider the additional 77 million people who will be enrolled in Medicare and Social Security in the next few years. These programs will collapse under their own weight without an enormous infusion of tax dollars.

The United States is on the edge of an economic cliff and Obama tells us to trust him, things are improving. This is true if the goal of the nation is to reinvent itself as a mediocre socialist state. The overt acts of Obama, Pelosi and Reid have undermined the sovereignty and security of the nation they inherited.

No amount of happy talk is going to delay the fiscal reckoning. These three miscreants have deliberately and with malice toward capitalism deeded the nation’s future to the government monopoly of wealth.

This is exactly where Obama, Pelosi and Reid are driving the country. The government now controls the financial institutions. Obama and friends just announced they will soon issue directives detailing the pay of employees in financial institutions.

They have the power to define credit worthiness and decide loan eligibility. Loans will be based on how they affect the government’s master plan and on the borrowers’ political allegiance. Earmarks pale by comparison to this pork barrel. Corruption Central, here we come.

Their plan even includes banks that required no government bailout. Why? To avoid the mass migration of management from government controlled banks to the private sector.

The liberals see this plan generating the same slobbering support of big government as is found in the rank and file of government bureaucrats. Is there any doubt that pay raises will be determined by political obedience?

If the federal government remains on this current track, private enterprise will be extinguished. Personal initiative and freedom of speech will be outlawed as anti-social. It was once stated that what is good for General Motors is good for the nation. That’s was never true, but now that GM is owned by the government, it’s a prelude to America’s bleak future.

Betrayal of America's Spirit

Mr. Obama’s first one hundred days in office will change the landscape of America for generations to come.

He is stacking $9 trillion dollars of debt on top of the one-half trillion that President Bush left on our table. Senator Newt Gingrich put this in perspective. Every twenty year old American has been saddled with an $114,000 IOU just to pay the interest on Obama’s spending.

And that number will triple if blanket amnesty for illegal aliens, cap and trade and universal healthcare are made law. The consequence of his vision will entail the confiscation of 60% to 75% of all earned income to support government and government welfare.

This will absolutely destroy any opportunity the next generations of Americans have to rise above the government’s allowance for success. When the incentive to create a better future for self and family is removed, private enterprise will shrivel and die. And that is the goal of socialists.

That’s why Obama and the Democrats want to reinstate the death tax. It’s the last residual of accumulated wealth which they regard as a dangerous, unfair disparity. Confiscating and redistributing the wealth created by previous generations will eliminate all inequality between classes.

Let no one doubt that diversity, political correctness, multiculturalism and affirmative action are knives that have been honed to cut the heart out of individual initiative and responsibility. This war against individual freedom and opportunity has two fronts.

The economy has over shadowed Obama’s efforts to demean and marginalize the Judeo-Christian principles the nation was founded on. By executive order he has made it a civil crime for a medical person to refuse to perform an abortion.

Think about that. With the stroke of his pen, Obama decreed that the State is the sole arbiter of moral decision making. He has greased the skids for the displacement of religious values with the secular courts. This establishes the State as equal to the Supreme Being.

His decision to open the human gene pool to stem cell research affected more than medical research. He proclaimed that the sanctity of human life is secondary to political judgments. In truth, Mr. Obama placed the human species on the same level as lab rats.

The amalgamation of abortion on demand and unlimited genetic engineering erases every moral standard upon which Western Civilization was built. This philosophy is what justifies the government’s redefinition of the purpose of marriage, and allows it to substitute moral equivalency for absolute truth.

It doesn’t eliminate the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. But it does give the government the right to define these rights, which mean they are subject to change based on the whims of government.

Capitalism, with all its flaws, is the muscle that built America. It opened the door of opportunity to all comers. And Obama? His agenda is disemboweling the American incentive by rewarding failure.

The only question remaining: Can Obama crush the human spirit? That answer will be delivered by the voters in the 2010 mid-term elections.

Will Obama sell the Statue of Liberty?

It’s difficult to understand what all the fuss was about when the CNN reporter, Susan Roesgen,recited the Enchanted Kingdom Party line to a Tea Party protester in Chicago. It must have been a slow news day.

The same week Speaker Pelosi was caught lying about her tacit approval of water boarding after demanding that every man, woman, child and insect involved with enhanced interrogation be prosecuted.

A CNN reporter chanting the Obama dogma and Pelosi, a politician, employing doublespeak to conceal the truth are as extraordinary as a choreographed news conference dominated by a teleprompter.

And who would have guessed that Senator Arlen Specter was a closet Democrat? His official shift from the Republican to the Democrat Party won’t change the vote count in the Senate. He was Reid’s right-hand rubber stamp.

The change smells like the little weasel had pretty much figured out he was persona non grata among Republicans in Pennsylvania.

Maine’s two Senators should do the same. Again, they are about as conservative as Barney Frank. Although, in fairness, they dress better, don’t slur their words and aren’t running gay brothels in their DC digs.

And Senator Dianne Feinstein guiding $25 billion in federal funds into her husband’s company, the CB Richard Ellis Group, was a stroke of luck. Who could have guessed that the value of the $10 million of company stock they purchased a few days before the announcement would go up forty percent.

Talk about a profitable coincidence. Of course, in fairness, maybe she didn’t know the name of her husband’s company. The mainstream media doesn’t see a smoking gun here. Maybe the deal was just beginners luck. Whatever the case, it seems being a Senator is better than playing the lottery.

The Heritage Foundation did the arithmetic on the cost of granting the 13 million illegal aliens amnesty. Relax! By the time they die amnesty will only cost the taxpayers a paltry $3.6 trillion in welfare, unless they bring all their relatives. In that case it gets expensive.

The upfront cost for amnesty is only $1.2 trillion. What’s another one trillion dollars in deficits between neighbors? Come on! They’re doing their share. It’s not easy spreading the swine-flu across the globe. And here you thought they weren’t productive contributors to the GDP.

And you will love this. Congress is working overtime to bring in a few million temporary workers to share the abundance of jobs created by Mr. Obama, Pelosi and Reid. Maybe that’s what Air Force One was doing when it buzzed New York City.

It was probably gathering promotional footage for an ad linking Mr. Obama to the fiscal and security benefits the US offers to foreign workers. They wanted to film it before the nation had to sell the Statue of Liberty back to the French to reduce the deficit.

Of course, the transaction would also shrink the cost of national security by eliminating one of the Islamic Terrorist’s targets. That sounds like a plan that Obama could hide behind.

The Power to Ignore

Illegal aliens cost this nation’s towns, states and the federal government about $440 billion annually. This fact is not in dispute.

The sum does not factor in the additional billions of dollars the recent SCHIP legislation provides in free healthcare for immigrants with green cards under the age of twenty-six (26). Nor does it include the legal and illegal immigrants’ access to the new entitlements in the Obama/Pelosi/Reid $3.6 trillion spending spree.

By 2010 the United States will be spending over one-half trillion dollars annually on immigrants.

The estimated 20,000 illegal aliens within our borders, from countries sponsoring terrorism, share this benevolence. Included in this number, may be a few hundred “moderate Taliban terrorists.” If Obama’s diplomatic overtures are based on reality, it’s possible the militant jihadists stayed home.

In either case, the cost in lives and dollars that will stem from granting amnesty to terrorists, although unknown, is real and pending.

Put the non-refuted $440 billion annual price tag for illegal immigration in perspective. The annual cost could retire the current $3.7 trillion national debt in ten years without tax increases.

And that’s the good news. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are quietly attempting to ram amnesty legislation through congress, while endeavoring to end E-Verify.

Here are the highlights of their prepared proposal. The police record of violent gang members will not disqualify them from amnesty. All illegal immigrants will be granted “temporary amnesty,” which will automatically renew forever.

All illegal aliens fighting deportation will be provided attorneys paid in full by American taxpayers. All illegal aliens who fled to sanctuary cities after receiving deportation orders will be immediately granted amnesty. All back taxes owed by illegal aliens will be forgiven.

And, of course, they will be granted the benefits of in-state tuition, and be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). The latter is a direct pipeline to the US treasury, with a built-in incentive to limit hours worked.

That their amnesty proposal gives illegal aliens nine (9) years to learn English before being granted citizenship is moot. They can stay forever, with all the rights and benefits of American citizens, without bothering to apply for citizenship. This will pretty much guarantee their permanent status as welfare recipients.

Officially, they can’t vote in elections. Does anyone really believe that this right won’t be granted through back channels?

Obama, Pelosi and Reid provided billions of dollars to organizations, such as ACORN, to promote illegal voting and the stuffing of ballet boxes. Be assured non-citizens will be granted the right to vote, progressing from city to state to federal elections. It will come right on the heels of this amnesty bill.

The contents of the Obama/Pelosi/Reid amnesty proposal epitomize their utter contempt for Americans, and congress’ disconnect from representative government. They only represent themselves and have conceitedly concluded that they have the power to ignore us.

Jimmy Carter Is Looking Better & Better

Mr. Obama’s address to the nation, delivered in front of the joint session of congress, was a masterpiece. Too bad he is just the water boy for the heavy hitters who filled the left side of the chamber.

He correctly identified healthcare, education and energy as fault lines lying beneath the nation’s long term, economic viability. And he seems to understand that building solutions for these challenges will be cash intensive.

It was heartening to hear him mention the precarious financial state of Medicare and Social Security, and his intention to halve the national deficit in four years. Few could disagree with his assessment of the need to update the national energy grid and invest in alternative energy research.

That he plans to end some corporate welfare is a positive. Eliminating agricultural subsidies, cost-plus Pentagon contracts and the practice of rewarding companies that ship manufacturing jobs off-shore is long overdue. Of course, these measures won’t reduce the deficit, as the revenues will be seamlessly transferred to the new entitlements he ticked off.

It was a little disconcerting, and certainly disingenuous, for him to state that the $787 billion bailout was free of earmarks. That statement smacked of Bill Clinton’s Monica Lewinsky word parsing when he said "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is” is. . . .”

The Bush White House and congress outspent their welcome. In just thirty-six days Obama and congress spent more than the cost of the Iraqi/Afghanistan conflict and the Katrina aftermath combined. Congress is the constant thread that weaves through both administrations.

And there sat Speaker Pelosi behind and to the left of Obama, grinning like a Cheshire cat. She has readied a $410 billion appropriation bill with over 9,000 earmarks embedded. Of course, technically these aren’t earmarks because they were added before the final, approved bill is rubber stamped by Obama.

Senator Schumer dismissed these fiscal indiscretions, reassuring the American taxpayers that less than 5% of the proposed expenditures are actually pork. This mindset permeates congress, and is the principle reason the deficit will continue to grow.

Obama soothed the fears of families making less than $250,000 annually, assuring them that their income taxes won’t increase. Just wait until they are blindsided by Pelosi’s anti-fossil energy rationing initiatives. The CBO estimates they will cost the average family about $4000 a year in additional energy outlays.

The leftwing parasites hope to drive the price of fossil fuels so high that windmills and sunshine will look like a bargain. Obama shares their enthusiasm. That’s why Americans didn’t hear any reference to expanded exploration and drilling for oil.

In Pelosi’s circles, that this deceit will cripple economic growth for decades is acceptable collateral damage. In their jargon, Obama “Gets it.” The only message that thinking Americans received from Obama is that the economy will be crushed by deficits, market and property deflation and staggering levels of unemployment. Within two years Jimmy Carter will look like the patron saint of sound fiscal policy.

The Entitlements R' Us Party

Americans are fretful about the nation’s future. And with good cause. There are few politicians on either side of the aisle that haven’t contributed to this state of mind. President Bush and the Republicans were gutless spenders. Every literate American knows they didn’t practice what they preached.

The current administration is nothing special. It’s filled with two-bit players pulled from the ranks of the Clinton administration. There is no reason to believe they learned from their past mistakes. For that matter, there is no evidence that they care. But that’s the point. It’s party loyalty that keeps them in the game.

Stand above political affiliations and just watch the jockeying. It’s apparent that the politicians are there to take care of the politicians. They are all insiders, even those temporarily on the outside. And they are all there to preserve and protect each other. They have managed to give nepotism a good name.

Obama’s cabinet, appointees and personal advisers are a bunch of retreads. So were Bush’s selectees. Obama is just a new face playing the old game he learned in Chicago.

The business of government is predicated on the preservation of influence and the attainment of personal wealth. Power is used to solidify longevity. In politics, longevity is the key to wealth. That both sides vehemently united against term limits substantiates this observation.

Lobbyists provide the glue that holds the corruption together. They supply the private conference rooms to barter political contributions for favors. Their rewards are based on their ability to anonymously scam the system. It’s a closed shop. Outsiders need not apply.

Both sides of the aisle share a common mindset. The believe tax revenues are the spoils of war. Legislation is no longer based on objective analysis and need. It’s doubtful this consideration is anything more than a by-product of the real objectives.

Other than its nation crippling size, there is nothing unusual about the $787 billion stimulus package.

The Democrats used the fiscal crisis as a pretext to reward their constituencies and bolster their political longevity. The crisis was a gift from heaven, which goes to prove that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Obama knows the bill is loaded with pork. In fact, that is why he was eager to sign it. The legislation rewards his constituencies with revenues his party will confiscate from his adversary’s supporters. That’s what upset all but three Republicans. And only a fool would believe they voted “yes” because of their principles.

The stimulus package is the largest political slush fund ever created in the history of mankind.

The legislation will pay off Obama’s markers. Sweeter yet, it reserves hundreds of billions of dollars for markers that he can call in the future. And best of all, he ensured the reliance of future generations of Americans on government handouts, which will cement them to the Entitlements R’ Us Party.

Here Piggy, Piggy, Piggy.

President Chicken Little spent most of the last ten days predicting economic catastrophe if congress doesn’t pass the stimulus package before the American people get a glimpse of it.

That the Congressional Budget Office all but condemned the pending legislation suggests that it’s time to slow down the process. Not convinced by its conclusion?

Mr. Obama is still in campaign mode. His press conference, February 9, 2009 was a tawdry display of lip synching. It is obvious that he doesn’t understand economics, nor does he comprehend the ramifications of adding a trillion dollars of pork to the national deficit.

He started the conference with a lie, or in kindness, maybe he is not familiar with US history. In either case, he stated that the current economic condition is worse than at any time since the Great Depression. Evidently he is not familiar with President Carter’s administration. Inflation, unemployment and interest rates were substantially worse than currently being experienced.

He was quick to condemn the Bush administration’s fiscal polices. Agreed, the over spending stunk! Obama neglected to mention that 9/11 and Katrina cost the nation nearly a trillion dollars shortly after the tech bubble burst. The military campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan and the creation of the Department of Homeland Security added another 500 billion dollars.

The negative impact of these expenditures was compounded by the need to rebuild the military, after President Clinton pillaged the Pentagon and Intelligence budgets. Please note that Obama recently asked the Pentagon to submit a budget 10% lower than its current level. That has a “here we go again” smell to it.

Obama also failed to mention that the Bush tax cuts kept the economy growing for seven years despite the headwinds. Nor did he acknowledge the housing market crash was catapulted by government mandated policies which the proposed legislation doesn’t correct. In fact, the small print endorses more of the same, namely, $5.2 billion for ACORN.

It is also evident that Obama has no faith in the Pelosi/Reid stimulus package creating jobs in the private sector. He changed his stance, clearly stating it will “create and save” about 4 million jobs. Those are weasel words. If the legislation fails to create jobs, he can claim it saved 4 million. That statistic can’t be measured.

This is the same doublespeak that Al Gore has employed. The term Climate Change has replaced Global Warming in his bag of tricks. After the last six consecutive years of planet cooling, his environmental message was looking foolish. Now he can forecast a pending environmental catastrophe if the normal cyclic temperatures move up or down the scale.

Obama’s defense of the stimulus package was mired in campaign mud. Never once did he specifically defend its ingredients. He substituted urgency for results. Naturally, he condemned the Republicans for dragging their feet. He begged the American people not to look before crossing.

With Obama’s endorsement, Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid sent congressional pages into the corridors yesterday, shouting “Here piggy, piggy, piggy,” to gather the Democratic faithful. They were followed by three despicable Republicans who held the fate of the nation in their hands.

These socialists agreed to tie a $789 billion anchor to an economy already faltering. They just spent America’s margin for error. There are no reserves left, other than printing worthless dollars. Americans should have tears in their eyes.

A Day of Infamy

Mr. Obama just signed the State Children’s’ Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009 (SCHIP). The proclaimed intent of the measure, according to Democrats, is to guarantee that the poor children living in the United States receive “free medical and dental care.”

And Mr. Obama said it was just the beginning during the signing ceremony. That was a truthful statement, and one of the saddest and most fearsome forecasts ever made by a president.

The legislation is officially intended to increase SCHIP enrollment from 7 million to 11 million children. This humanitarian goal will be accomplished because the original family income cap of $42,000 was raised. Now children, under the age of 25, living with families that have incomes below $66,000/year qualify.

The increased enrollment will bring the annual cost to about $10 billion a year. Only in the Democratic lexicon is that “free medical and dental care.”

The average household income of 60% of US families is less than $62,000; the medium income is about $50,000. It was shocking to discover that the United States has nearly 4 million hungry, bare footed children in the Middle Class.

Of course, the 11 million number is eyewash. Any parents with an income under $66,000, who removes their children’s names from their private medical insurance policy, can enroll them in SCHIP. In truth, 42 million US children are eligible to participate.

Do the arithmetic! Within a decade the annual cost for SCHIP will approach 40 billion dollars. And that number doesn’t include the cost of “free medical and dental care” for the children of immigrants on the first day they receive their green cards, or for the maternity benefits immediately granted their mothers.

The medical costs currently absorbed by the states for providing care to 12-16 million illegal aliens has them swimming in red ink. Does any taxpayer believe the states won’t turn a blind eye to the legal status of the immigrant patients? This is a sweetheart deal for the states that put out the welcome mat for illegal aliens. They are blue in color.

SCHIP is an invitation to disaster. Its real cost will exceed $50 billion annually within ten years, unless Mexico collapses financially. And it is teetering on the edge. Its disintegration will drive millions of Mexicans across the border. Be alarmed! Nearly one-half of Mexico’s 119 million population is under the age of twenty-five.

If Obama, Pelosi and Reid accomplish nothing else in the coming four years, they can point to anchoring universal healthcare. That was, and is, the primary objective of the legislation. Secondly, they hope to entice Mexicans into the Democratic Party which will guarantee the liberals’ lock on congress for generations.

This is the same party which is currently planning to add nearly $1.5 trillion in expanded entitlements under the auspices of a stimulus plan. They have abandoned every principle in their quest to displace capitalism with socialism, and solidify their power.

SCHIP sounded the death knell for private medical practices, capitalism, national security and the deterioration of the medical industry. Its signing on February 4, 2009 pushed the nation into the jaws of the same style of socialism crushing every European economy. It was a day of infamy.

PLEASE NOTE: The Democrats raised the tax on a package of cigarettes to $1.00 to cover the cost of SCHIP. Every American man, woman and child will soon have to smoke 166 packages of cigarettes each year to defray the cost.

Pork Land Vs. Reality

The tug of war over the content of the stimulus package does more than exemplify the gulf between conservatives and liberals.

The final version of the appropriation will determine whether Mr. Obama’s presidency will be a prolonged national agony or the gate to a successful economic triumph. And don’t be deceived. He has only one chance to get it right.

The time for pretense is over. Neither he, nor Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid can make a trillion dollar mistake and recover. The stone and chisels are out, ready to engrave his epitaph. No amount of soaring rhetoric will camouflage the outcome. In sports jargon, this is match point.

It is understood that Obama won the election promising a massive income redistribution. His recent statement condemning companies that make profits during a recession either epitomizes his utter lack of business acumen, or is an acknowledgement that he is an anti-business socialist. There is no middle ground to plant another interpretation.

It’s clear that Obama’s advisors have enough historical perspective to delay raising taxes during a recession. They know the economy would completely unravel. Of course, this hasn’t stopped Speaker Pelosi’s quest to vanquish the last remaining productive segment of society. It’s equally clear that Obama is dithering over the subject.

His advisors are also aware that no government can spend itself out of a recession. But it can spend itself into a depression. So far it appears that Obama is prone to ignore the odds predicated on a century of economic experience.

Pelosi’s proposed stimulus legislation is a trillion dollars of pork. This welfare bazaar satiates the appetites of every loony leftwing cause. This feast will relinquish America’s control of its economy to the Chinese (the money lenders), and/or send inflation into the stratosphere.

Obama is at a crossroad. Will he appease his fellow socialists or strengthen the engine of capitalism with tax cuts? The Great Society legislation of the 1960’s, and the cascade of entitlements that followed, confiscated the seed money needed for personal growth. Income, payroll, excise and sales taxes have since choked the upward mobility of Americans, and have kept them swimming against the tide of prosperity.

Today, a decent standard of living generally requires both parents in the job market to merely survive from payday to payday. This standard is not remotely equal to the Middle Class standards of the 1950’s and 1960’s. The advent of daycare centers should have been a warning.

Currently more people are employed in government than in manufacturing. In a time of fiscal crisis, no sound company adds to its overhead. If corporations can’t stop the growth of government and the taxation required to pay this overhead, they are forced to slash employment, or move their operations off-shore.

Of course, they have a third option. About 35,000 registered lobbyists work diligently to encourage the members of congress to share the tax receipts with them in return for political contributions.

This coziness explains congress’ reluctance to stop the influx of cheap illegal labor coming in the backdoor, and the 1.5 million HB-1 workers scheduled to come through the front door. No wonder wages are stagnant.

If you are not worried about the tax and inflationary consequences of the Pelosi welfare bazaar, you are probably among the Americans who have moved $13 trillion off-shore to avoid the confiscatory taxation, or you simply can’t count. Or maybe you are one of the lucky few who will be considered for a post in the Obama administration.

Diaper Dipolmacy

Conservatives had conniptions over Mr. Obama’s granting an Arabic news outlet an interview/press conference. It was his first effort to directly communicate with the moderate Muslims in the Middle East.

In simple declarative sentences, the President admitted the US has made policy mistakes and that its diplomatic history is replete with goal oriented objectives which favor the US. Both statements are true, so the message didn’t break new ground.

Obama didn’t waiver on his support of Israel’s right to exist. Throwing Israel to the wolves would have pleased the Muslims. Of course, had he even inferred that Israel’s existence was open to debate, his presidency would have ended.

So what did his interview accomplish? It merely confirmed the direction of his administration, which was a fatal error. He informed every Muslim that the US military will continue to stand behind this line in the sand. Obama’s debut in direct diplomacy tipped his hole card. He backed himself into a corner by foolishly admitting it is going to be business as usual.

And that wasn’t the message he intended to give.

Obama should have known better. He won the Oval Office on promises of hope and change which he never defined. His campaign cleverly allowed the voters to interpret the meaning of the words. When promises are vague, and open to conjecture, everyone can envision sharing the potential opportunities.

It’s becoming more and more obvious. Obama believes the world was waiting for his arrival. He actually believes the media hype which describes him as a transformational president; that his ascendency was miraculous; that his wife is the Holy Grail.

Too bad the Arabic press conference, Obama’s initiation into international relations, defined his naivety and arrogance, and confirmed his powers of insight are not supernatural. It’s going to be a treacherous four years if he continues down this path of delusional Diaper Diplomacy.

He thought a change of diapers would solve the world’s problems. He ignored one fact. The procedure merely addresses the comfort of the subject between biological outpourings. Until the subject realizes that the discomfiture is self-inflicted, and can be avoided, the problem won’t be solved.

His rush to lay hands on the Middle East was based on a false assumption. Contrary to the mainstream media’s portrayal of this overture, he is not the first president to reach out to moderates. He is the first president who doesn’t understand they are powerless without the backing of the US and Europe.

Did his message open a dialogue with the dictators in the Middle East? The answer is yes. Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, responded to Obama’s call for change with a wish list. His prerequisites for peace are the destruction of Israel, allowing his country to build nuclear weapons and to pursue and underwrite global terrorism. That’s dialogue.

The messenger of hope and change will continue to publicly condemn the previous administration’s foreign policy, while stumbling about. He just discovered that it’s difficult to walk in diplomatic circles with his pants around his ankles. That tends to happen when you are too big for your britches.

A Messianic Complex?

It’s official. Obama is president. Hope is here, change has started and prosperity is just around the corner. His inauguration speech made it clear that with President Bush’s administration gone it will be nothing put clear sailing.

Despite all the hoopla, the nation still doesn’t know what Obama is about. But the picture is getting clearer.

We do know the Senate Finance Committee gave Tim Geithner the nod for Treasury Secretary. Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats seem to care that the man sat in front of the committee and lied for hours. This sack of dishonesty, who will head the Internal Revenue Service, is an out and out tax cheat.

It’s apparent that Congress doesn’t care if he is ethically bankrupt. It must be nice to have friends and a boss who are willing to overlook and marginalize the value of personal integrity. He will fit right in with the Wall Street crooks and Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and Charlie Rangel (another tax evader). Their meetings should be very collegial.

Eric Holder’s confirmation hearings for the post of Attorney General have certainly defined loyalty. Like any good lapdog, he will do the bidding of his boss. Without equivocation, he personally handled the pardon of the international fugitive, Marc Rich, so President Clinton and his wife could leave the White House with an extra $18 million in their pockets. How nice was that?

Of course, that’s what subordinates are for in Washington DC. Only a mean spirited person would suggest that Eric Holder would again sell out the justice system if it benefited his superiors. Before the doubters rush to judgment, stop and drink some more Kool Aid.

Everyone seems to love Leon Panetta. Can anyone think of a better time to hand over the management of the country’s foremost intelligence agency to a neophyte?

This lovely man will embark, hand-in-hand with Obama, on a noble experiment. The closure of Gitmo, ending rendition and tough interrogation practices, electronic eavesdropping on terrorists, and eliminating military tribunals will have the world swooning at the feet of the Statue of Liberty.

And what terrorist won’t beg for capture knowing that he will be treated better, sleep better, dine better and be given more judicial rights than his jihadist buddies still intent on killing Americans? Only a skeptic would fear the outcome of this noble experiment. However, the folks in New York City might want to increase their vigilance, or find someplace else to live and work.

Wow! Hillary Clinton is the new Secretary of State. Now there is a pillar of truth telling. That her husband, President Clinton, is the most successful lobbyist in the history of the nation will be a great benefit. The rulers in the Middle East have already paid the Clintons over $500,000,000 to buy influence, which will certainly expedite any negotiations. She will be able to hit the ground running.

And Obama explained his definition of bipartisan politics when he asked Americans to "stop listening to Rush Limbaugh," and by extension, all who disagree with his brand of politics.

He inferred that those who don’t believe that he is The One are evil. He wants no gods before him. He truly believes that he is the light and path. This acknowledgement of his Messianic Complex is the most chilling revelation ever made by an American president.

While You Watched Obama

This week the spotlight is on Obama’s ascendancy to the White House. The coverage, to say the least, is overwhelming. Most of the rhetoric revolves around how proud the mainstream media is to have a black president, and how lucky Americans are that it’s Obama.

The national polls indicate that the exuberance of over 70% of the citizens tilts between happy and thrilled to see him. That’s good. It’s probably safe to assume that the 30% who are less infatuated are those who bear about 95% of the tax burden.

The citizens who vote on issues, rather than the hue of a candidates’ skin, are watching the backdoor of Congress. Speaker Pelosi and Harry Reid are greasing the skids for the largest transfer of wealth ever recorded in the United States.

They aren’t breaking new ground. Stalin, Castro and Mao introduced the joys of socialism to billions of people. It worked out well for the political ruling class. The only losers were the property owners and the peasants. The latter learned too late that the government spigot dries up when the revenue generating class is crushed.

Comrade Pelosi has been a busy little socialist. Her finished version of the second phase of the bailout/stimulus package is neither a bailout, nor an economic stimulus. It’s $1.3 trillion of pork and earmarks which target pet projects and welfare.

Naturally, she wants personal and corporate income taxes, as well as, capital gains raised to reduce the deficit her spending fling will propel into the stratosphere.

Expect Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Chuck Schumer and Ted Kennedy to brush aside questions about the consequences. These are the guys that lied about the financial health of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and refused to admit that Social Security and Medicare are fiscal time bombs.

Pelosi and her comrades were unhappy that the few remaining capitalists in Congress could stop their assault on the taxpayers and the Constitution, by using the one hundred year old House rule, referred to as the “motion to recommit.”

The rule forces the House members to vote separately on legislation buried in unrelated bills. Were it not for this parliamentary procedure, government publications could not mention God, the right of private gun ownership would have disappeared, unabridged amnesty for illegal aliens and multiple tax increases would already be law.

The Republicans thwarted these Democratic initiatives in the last 24 months with the “motion to recommit.”

Comrade Pelosi found a solution. She suspended the rule on the first day of the new Congress. Now the Democrats can pass their agenda without having to show their colors. In effect, they can pass bills with zero regard for voter backlash because tyrannical legislation can be hidden in footnotes.

Does anyone doubt that Pelosi will scramble to pass the Fairness Doctrine, which will legally silence political descent? The pandering mainstream media has her back covered. The suspension of the “motion to recommit” and the institution of the Fairness Doctrine will open the gates to a reign of terror.

And their sits that little weasel, Senator Harry Reid, ready to shove amnesty for every illegal alien down the throats of Americans, with Obama’s blessing.

The inaugural festivities were a distraction. Now let’s hope the 90% of employed Americans and the 95% of Americans making their mortgage payments aren’t betrayed by Congress and Obama. It doesn’t look hopeful.

Interpreting Election Results

Recently, a poll question was asked on The O’Reilly Factor: Do you want Obama’s presidency to be successful? The responders could select “yes” or “no.”

It’s a loaded question because it requires the viewers to define success before voting. Few Americans want Obama to fail, if failure entails the collapse of capitalism, the elimination of the right to a secret ballot, censorship, open borders and abandoning our national security.

His ardent supporters, including most of the mainstream media, would view these results as positives. Thus, if the intent of the question was to measure good will, it failed miserably.

A more important question, the one that will define his presidency, is why does Obama believe he was elected? That’s the question that will stalk him from January 20, 2009 until the next national election in 2010.

The collapse of Wall Street, blamed on President Bush and the Republicans, was the preeminent event that secured his success. Terrorism, national security, Iraq, illegal immigration, energy and the environment were swept away by the prospect of economic doom.

His ardent supporters believe the election was a referendum on the liberalization of the country. This vocal minority expects to be rewarded for its support. Obama’s cabinet selections suggest that he understands that liberal promiscuity is a political dead end. But he can’t turn his back to the progressive secularists.

This explains his appointment of Carol Browner to the post of Global Warming Czar. She is an avowed socialist and a member of the Center for American Progress. This organization is demanding $300 billion to address its fictitious global warming forecasts, and draconian legislation to restrict energy use by US families and businesses.

Her environmental recipe would starve Americans to insure the energy consumption of every person on the planet be equal. This wacko, beloved by the mainstream media, will attend Cabinet meetings. Let’s hope that Obama realizes her potential for being the government’s number one security leak.

Obama’s commitment to close Gitmo, end rendition practices, eliminate aggressive questioning of terrorists and to stop government eavesdropping on conversations between known terrorists and US citizens will please Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Harry Reid and every other moron who doesn’t equate terrorism to war.

If these policies are instituted, a second major attack on our shores will end Obama’s career and the lives of countless Americans. His willingness to take these risks to appease the leftwing was forgotten before the election. Let’s hope he understands the mainstream media won’t be able to conceal his complicity.

It doesn’t appear that the majority of Americans believe his $1.3 trillion, bailout prescription will benefit anyone not on welfare, or living in penthouses. And Senator Schumer just confirmed that Obama knew his campaign pledge ($3000 tax credit) to small businesses to hire new employees was an inside joke.

Let’s hope America’s citizens don’t have to experience economic disaster before Obama realizes why he was elected. And let’s hope the country is able to dig out of the hole he creates, if he continues to please Nancy, Barney and Harry.

That's the Truth

There is a dark cloud hanging over America. It’s not the economy, or terrorism, or the cost of healthcare that saps the optimism required for a turnaround. It’s the growing awareness that Congress, the Bush Administration and President-elect Obama’s team have and will continue to destroy the American Dream.

In truth, most Representatives and Senators are hypocritical, arrogant, self-serving slugs. This sleazy club works on the premise that Americans are too stupid, too lazy and too ill-informed to vote on issues. Based on the last election results, it seems their hypothesis is correct.

For fifty years they have milked the Middle Class to strengthen and protect their tenure. They passed laws that outlawed promotion based on merit, and undermined economic growth and opportunity by confiscating investment capital. Their voracious appetite for power narrowed and undermined the bridge that couples personal incentive to the monetary rewards of accomplishment.

For five decades Congress has glorified and justified incompetence under the guise of fairness, diversity and affirmative action. Their polices, regulations and taxes offered manufacturers the option of committing fiscal suicide or moving offshore. They chose survival, which gutted the labor market of high paying jobs.

The thriving Middle Class of the 1950’s and 1960’s no longer exists. Government bankrupted it. They stole its treasure, and doled it out to build a loyal constituency of bottom feeders dependent on government handouts.

Obama’s promise to lower taxes on the Middle Class was a hideous, cynical charade. There are only a few remnants left of this once flourishing class and they have nothing left to give.

So don’t be deceived. Obama’s promise to confiscate the income of the wealthy wasn’t based on tax fairness. Simply put, these survivors are the last available source of revenue, other than deficits, to sustain the welfare ranks.

The out-of-control entitlements will collapse without this infusion. And everyone in Congress knows this to be true. They are also aware that the collapse, or even the interruption of entitlements, will destroy their powerbase and chance of re-election.

And don’t equate welfare with just food stamps, subsidized housing and medical care. Government bureaucracies are growing exponentially. These ravenous bottom feeders are the antithesis of productivity. Their existence depends on their ability to shuffle paper and smoother the private sector’s freedom of choice with regulations that favor mediocrity.

And don’t kid yourself. The bailout is more about government encroachment than fiscal sanity. Not one paragraph or sentence in the current or pending legislation addresses the root causes of the fiscal meltdown. Lending practices that demand borrowers be credit worthy aren’t mandated, nor have the tax contributions to organizations that prey on the system been outlawed.

Americans don’t have to be statisticians to know that government malfeasance is rotting the nation’s capability to prosper. It’s squandering our resources, endangering our security and enriching its friends at the expense of working Americans.

Know the politicians are pouring tax dollars into this sinkhole to protect their fiefdoms. If they represented working Americans they would eliminate corporate and capital gains taxes and slash spending. And that’s the truth.

The Trillion Dollar Deceit

It would be one thing if this country was facing a massive economic upheaval due to forces outside the US sphere of influence. But that isn’t so. The fiscal chaos was born and bred within our borders.

It is partially the result of President Bush’s poor leadership, which was compounded by the mainstream media’s determination to disenfranchise him. They preferred the weather psychopath, Al Gore, and Senator Kerry, the male version of Barbara Streisand.

These are the same enemy sympathizers that have convulsions if civilians are killed or injured when US troops attack terrorist sanctuaries, or when US telecommunication corporations cooperate with the intelligence gathering agencies.

This is the crowd that demands the safety of aliens crossing our borders illegally, and would rather free captured terrorists than deny them the judicial rights of US citizens.

These are the turncoats that protected Obama’s ascendency by ignoring his paltry record, his associations with terrorists, racists, financial vultures, and the fact that he helped funnel tens of millions of dollars into organizations that blackmailed lending institutions into granting loans based on race rather than credit worthiness.

These are the same arbiters of fairness that attacked Obama’s adversaries as racists, and ignored the statements from his lips that proved his ignorance, duplicity and incompetence.

The mainstream media, the bastion of political correctness, has elevated hypocrisy to an art form. It willingly and with malice viewed the collapse of the American economy as acceptable collateral damage if the Democrats could win Congress and the White House.

They refused to describe the role of President Clinton and the Democratic Congress which revised the Community Reinvestment Act in 1995. It is the defacto cause of the fiscal meltdown, as it staged the perfect storm for plundering $1 trillion from the American economy.

These are the thieves that stole the light that was meant to shine on government corruption. They buried the outright lies of Representative Barney Frank and Senator Chris Dodd about the health of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

They never questioned if these lies were a quid pro quo for the contributions Barney, Chris and Barack received from these fiscal maggots. And rather than demanding their impeachment, they blamed the financial vultures for participating in the government mandated welfare Ponzi scheme.

The mainstream media has lost its right to be respected, the right to exist. It could be forgiven if it openly admitted that it is the marketing arm of the Democratic Party, as is the PBS. But that will never happen because it would require a commodity it surrendered year’s ago, the objective truth.

The media’s deceitful propaganda and silence has cost this country a trillion dollars and still counting. It opened the door for the weasels that are eagerly waiting to savage the Constitution with its help and blessing.

To the Delight of Enemies All

So what if the economy is tanking, unemployment is skyrocketing, an ice storm lowered the boom on New England and the experts have concluded that the federal bailout did a belly flop? Christmas will arrive, just a bit late this year.

So don’t worry if the governor of Illinois decides to sell a Senate seat to cushion his retirement nest. Be hopeful! The Big Three and many blue states are courting the big spenders in Congress. Watch them smile without fear, for they know Christmas begins early next year.

And share the love! Don’t be sad because OPEC jacked up the tab. Besides, who needs oil and coal when we’ve been promised windmills and sunshine? Ask any polar bear. Industry, transportation, stoves and air-conditioning are overrated. If animals can do without, why should 300 million Americans pout?

And have some faith in government. Certainly a little conversation will end the countdown to an Israeli/Iranian showdown, Russia’s belligerence and the growing evidence of a major cyber attack. Show some Christmas spirit. Admit to the world that all the Muslim jihadists need is a little love, appreciation and the extinction of Christianity.

Granted, the foreclosure rate of US homes is climbing. And no one needs to be reminded that the stock market is competing with de-escalating home values to destroy the net worth of Americans. But don’t fret for a second! Just tighten your night caps and let visions of pork dance through your head.

To the nation’s delight, here comes eight tiny reindeer, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, John Kerry, Ed Kennedy and Charlie Rangel by name. They are joyful for the chance to pull Santa Obama’s red sleigh, loaded with goodies and deficits so high they’ll blanket the sky.

The trial attorneys, lobbyists, teachers, bureaucrats, illegal aliens and welfare recipients all, have hung up their stockings, knowing St. Obama will fill them with stuff only found in reindeer stalls.

Compassionate Conservatives should be happy as well, for President Bush will not disappear. Expect to hear his name spoken time and again, for St. Obama will remind us that his nose was blue and not a pretty bright red like his sled.

We can trust the new leadership coming to town. Obama, Michelle and their eight tiny reindeer realize Bush is responsible for world poverty, 9/11, terrorism, Christianity, weather changes and pollution, the energy crisis, the financial meltdown, low taxes, too little government regulation and the world’s failure to love us.

St. Obama will go right to work. All will be well when capitalism settles down for a long winter’s nap. In the wink of an eye, more government, more regulation, more taxation, more apologies and more freeloaders will arrive to the delight of our enemies all.

So pardon the effrontery for questioning if Obama was born in this country . . . .

The Nancy, Harry and Barack Show

America’s first affirmative action presidential candidate, Senator Obama, has the wind to his back. The Democratically controlled Congress is smoothing the way. They funded the Iraqi War for a year and quietly passed the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) legislation that the Republicans demanded.

Don’t confuse the leftwing’s turnabout with compromise. Iraq is in Senator McCain’s plus column since the military tide reached the shores of success. Senator Obama painted himself into the loser’s corner with his cut & run rhetoric. The Democrats want his premature declaration of defeat buried.

The reason for the leftwing’s decision to concede on the FISA legislation is more complex. They claimed the updated FISA legislation, passed after 9/11, opened the door to government electronic spying on US citizens.

Other than a few paperwork snafus, there was no evidence of any abuse. The program worked. But the Democrats ignored this fact because they saw the chance to engorge the government coffers through lawsuits and fines on the telecommunication industry.

And we all know what is on their minds. They are copying chapters from Stalin’s plan for government control of production. It would not have been surprising if they threatened to nationalize the telecommunications industry, as they have already threatened the oil companies.

These parasites were smacking their socialist lips over the prospect of “anti-tobacco” sized settlements. Their proposed revisions to the post 9/11 legislation would have allowed their ardent supporters, the trial attorneys and the ACLU, to reap billions of dollars from the companies that cooperated with our intelligence agencies’ pursuit of terrorists.

But the Democrats realized, just prior to the election, that it would be unwise to defend legislation that tied the nation’s hands in combating terrorism. Besides, if their candidate reaches the Oval Office, they can review and change any prior legislation without the threat of a veto.

And this is what is frightening. The far left is in control of the Senate and the House of Representatives. Now place the White House in the hands of the nation’s foremost socialist.

If Obama is elected, it means the country has reached a watershed. Its future will be controlled by a new majority. Its destiny will be in the hands of those who expect the government to coddle them from cradle to grave. They will vanquish the achievers, treating private wealth as the spoils of war.

In anticipation, the liberal disciples are already disparaging home ownership as overrated. This isn’t idle chatter. It’s conceivable to foresee an Obama government confiscating private property and redistributing homes based on family size and diversity. Think not?

The Democrats are currently demanding that the government guarantee the mortgages of 400,000 people who purchased homes they wanted and couldn’t afford. Don’t be deceived. There is little difference between financing the fiscally irresponsible, and simply giving them the houses they have always wanted. The latter is just a short hop away.

We are one election away from this country’s obliteration of personal freedom, private property and healthcare, the incentive to work and the strength of capitalism. That’s Obama’s definition of change.
