Senator Biden's Conscience

Take another look at Senator Joe Biden. Since the primary season began, he has made a number of statements that Senator Obama’s campaign staff would like to have expunged from the record.

The liberal dominated media universally refers to Biden as a gaffe machine. These pro-Obama bed wetters have ended any pretense of being impartial. They have lied, distorted the truth and fabricated falsehoods to help Obama achieve victory.

Thus, there is no wonder why these media pissants have resurrected and polished Senator Biden’s reputation for misspeaking. It is the perfect antidote for dismissing his “gaffes.” This perception is so pervasive that even the Republicans resort to ridiculing his foot in mouth disease. That’s a mistake.

Senator Biden’s greatest flaw is that he has a conscience. He is a compulsive truth teller, and has a penchant to state it at inopportune times. The gaffe label inoculates Senator Obama from his partner’s assessment of his weaknesses.

No one in the media is accusing Senator Biden of being foolish, lacking insight or of being unqualified for the vice presidential post. In fact, it is quite the opposite. They extol his insight, experience and judgment.

So how should the voters interpret Senator Biden’s “gaffes?” It’s reasonable to conclude that Senator Biden’s slip-of-the-tongue remarks, although not calculated or deliberate, offer an insight into his assessment of an Obama presidency. He is inadvertently telling us Senator Obama is not ready for prime time.

Senator Biden has warned us that Obama lacks the experience and maturity to handle the reigns of government. He has cautioned us that our enemies will welcome an Obama presidency. He has told us that America will be challenged and Americans won’t like President Obama’s test results.

He has told us that Senator McCain is the superior candidate. That can’t be construed as a gaffe; that is the assessment of someone who has spent thirty years in Congress.

He has prepared us for Obama Economics by equating Obama’s vision of unrestrained welfare with patriotism. That is a strange, defensive statement from the mouth of a liberal. Even Biden foresees the economic havoc that Obama’s unquenchable appetite for accelerated government spending will reap.

Only Obama’s wife, Michelle, and Reverend Wright, both racist America haters, stand closer to this man, who-would-be-president, than Biden. What has Biden learned about Obama that frightens him? Has Obama shared his real vision for America with this man?

It’s doubtful that Senator Biden will ever be a member of Obama’s inner circle. Obama will never trust him because Joe is a patriot and has a conscience. And that is the core element that separates Obama from Senator Biden, Senator McCain and Governor Palin.

Obama’s ambition to be president has never been thwarted by honor or a conscience. For Obama, truth is subjective. It has never stood in the way of his ambition. And that is what frightens a decent man like Senator Biden.

Homeowners Beware of Obama

The Biden/Palin debate is now history. It confirmed two things. Governor Palin believes in personal responsibility and Senator Biden believes personal responsibility is an outdated concept. Normally the reiteration of the core principle that divides the right and left would simply move the ball back into the hands of the presidential candidates.

But before the page is turned, America’s home owners should focus on one statement made by Senator Biden about the $700 billion bailout. He gave a preview of the Obama agenda. And there is no confusion about what he said.

The good Senator stated unequivocally that taxes should be used to subsidize the margin between what the unaccredited home buyers, currently in default, can afford and what they want. He believes the price they pay should be determined by a “judge.” He said it. It’s on the record.

This is the leftwing’s latest solution to compensate for the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac debacle. It’s their new recipe for a second economic disaster. Rather than indirectly providing the collateral for non-credit worthy buyers with government guarantees (which just failed), Senator Biden recommends that the federal government directly absorb the delta.

In stark terms, this means Senator Biden and Senator Obama believe the price of a home should be determined by what the buyer can afford. This clarifies the endgame of the leftwing’s initial goal for HUD, Fannie and Freddie: make home ownership an entitlement (read welfare).

Think of the consequence of providing a $212,400 home, today’s median price of a home in the US, to a few million people who can only afford a $50,000 mortgage. Biden wants the government to pay the differential.

Wow! It will pay to be a deadbeat. Any buyer, without a job or a penny, could score some quick bucks by selling these properties for any sum above the $50,000 purchase price. And so long as they squander the profits, these fiscal miscreants will be eligible to buy another taxpayer financed home.

Forget government encouraging economic depravity. Round two of this income redistribution scheme, as explained by Senator Biden, would put the fair market value of every home in the nation in a freefall. Of course, the leftwing will scream that this will benefit every American by reducing the average cost of a home.

For all Americans who purchased homes without a government subsidy (96%), the previous scheme has already depreciated home values by an average of 7.1%. This equates to a $14,868 loss in the value of the average home in America due to the most recent Democratic housing welfare scheme.

In addition, Rep. Barney Frank, Senator Dodd, Speaker Pelosi, Senator Reid, Senator Obama and his other friends just saddled every man, woman and child in America with a $3000 tax bill for the leftwing’s first failed effort.

Senator Obama is gaining in the polls by promising the Middle Class that he will not raise their taxes. This promise is peanuts compared to the staggering loss in home equity (real money) that will occur when Obama and his band of socialists start buying houses for their constituency. This will destroy most American’s greatest asset, the value of their homes.

If Obama’s and Biden’s welfare agenda doesn’t scare you, you are either an illegal alien, on welfare, fiscally illiterate or a fool.

Can Congress be Stopped?

Rarely, only rarely, do politicians bare their souls. Senator Biden had one of these moments when he related patriotism to the duty of Americans to pay higher taxes. His candor defined the politics of national decline.

Biden’s solution: Pad all government accounts to compensate for its reckless abandonment of fiscal sanity. It’s not a solution; it’s an endorsement of the status quo. He believes that buying oats for a dead horse will miraculously turn it into a thoroughbred.

Senator McCain was correct when he said the fundamentals of the American economy are sound. America has the infrastructure, the intelligence, the capital, the willingness and a tradition of solving problems.

There is only one question that needs answering. Can Congress be stopped from interfering with our economic success?

Long term recovery and sustainable economic growth is dependent on government staying out of the pockets of business, and business staying out of the government’s pocket. The margins between these entities have been blurred by decades of legislation which has created an unhealthy dependency.

Now add social engineering to the mix. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) was created by the Democrats to encourage banks to approve the mortgages of unaccredited borrowers. Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were created to buy the worthless mortgages that the banks would have otherwise refused to approve.

In effect, the government licensed mortgage brokers to pillage over a trillion dollars from the US Treasury to promote housing welfare. Don’t blame the regulators. Send your heart felt thanks to the Democrats for your generosity. Now watch them scramble to control the distribution of the funds.

The bailout will soon become history’s greatest political slush fund. Of course, the Democrats will blame the bankers and paint the need for a bailout as a shared responsibility. That’s code for sticking every single American with a $2300 bill for yet another failed income redistribution scheme.

This fits the Standard Operating Procedure of the Democratic Party: Throw good money after bad. And for the record, President Bush will sign their legislation because he doesn’t have a backbone and his advisors all live on Wall Street.

To keep America’s credit lines healthy, temporary funding should be used to bolster the reserves of the thousands of financial institutions that remained faithful to the public trust.

The nation is in jeopardy because liberals believe government is the source of prosperity. Democrats believe that taxation creates opportunity. Follow this arrogance to its logical conclusion, and taxes can never be high enough. Senator Biden confessed his belief that if government is revenue rich then everyone will live happily ever after.

The current US tax code is a precursor to the nation’s obituary because it is used to grant special treatment. It’s the official log of business buying favors from a Congress that trades its influence for our affluence.

Senator Biden’s moment of honesty pinpoints the cause of our nation’s economic stagnation. Whether the Democrats are debating healthcare, education or energy their goal is the same. They want to expand and retain the power of government. And that is what’s rotting America’s economic fabric.

The Obama Prototype

Well, it’s official. Senator Obama chose Senator Biden, Delaware, as his vice presidential running mate. The decision has been dissected, vetted and spun by the press. Certainly his experience will have some impact on the contest. More than likely it will be marginal.

Senator McCain will announce his decision this week. Unless he selects a liberal, pro-choice partner, the impact will be nearly identical.

Vice presidential nominees play about the same role as cheer leaders in national sporting events. They are choreographed promoters and paid defenders of the team. They suit up for the game and step into the limelight for a few months before disappearing.

They echo the game plan defined by the coaches and quarterback. They are there to cheer. They don’t even have to believe in the message. Enthusiastic lip service is the only required commitment. They end up spending most of their time accusing the opponent of committing infractions. Baby sitters have more responsibility.

The entire process is a silly diversion. It keeps the media entertained and the talking heads employed. What’s-their-names will appear on bumper stickers, eat a lot of chicken and sleep with their megaphones. But when the sun comes up in mid-September, it will still be Obama vs. McCain.

It’s unclear why vice presidential debates are held. The participants aren’t allowed to voice original thoughts. No one expects them to contradict the party line, and they won’t. The nation would be better served with more presidential question and answer bouts.

But it’s easy to be stampeded by the media hoopla. Maybe it’s a saving grace. At least, the selection process is a distraction from the current economic reality. While the nation faces an energy crisis of epic proportions, Congress is on vacation. So by default the media is discussing vice presidents.

Only the truly stupid don’t relate the rising unemployment and the near meteoric inflation of consumer goods to the cost of energy. That’s the noose around every American’s neck. It needs immediate resolution.

So what are we hearing? McCain doesn’t know how many houses his wife owns and Obama isn’t supporting the results of his father’s libido. It’s an outrage that these distractions and the VP beauty contest are headlining the news.

Potentially, neither vice president will have as much impact on this election as Speaker Pelosi. If Americans recognize that Pelosi and a handful of Democrats are playing environmental roulette with the nation’s well-being, the election is over.

Single handedly she will defeat Senator Obama, again, if the voters realize that she is the prototype for what he aspires to be. He is nothing more than a Pelosi clone. And next to Senator Obama, she is the scariest politician on our shores. Compared to her, Senator Biden is a footnote.

Of Lice and Men

On Monday, September 10, 2007, the Democrats in the United States House of Representatives reached a new depth of depravity. Their Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Representative Lantos (D, CA), told the nation that General David Petraeus, seated before him, came to lie to the nation about Iraq.

Ordinary Americans have come to expect little from this body of minuscule life forms. They are infectious, parasitic insects, dependent on mankind for their survival. But unlike lice, these loathsome creatures only attack our nations’ best and bravest.

Representative Lantos’ opening statement was so despicable that his staff closed his Website. They crawled into a dank hole and hide from America. In fairness, they practice what they preach—they cut-and-run in the face of adversity.

General Petraeus is a soldier. His presence in the chamber dwarfed this body of Lilliputians. He came as an American, and sat silent and taciturn, as was his duty. He never signaled his personal feelings when Representatives Lantos and Drexel (D, PA) spewed their anti-victory venom.

The General’s strength of character and resolve must have made every family, with a son or daughter stationed in the Iraqi theater, proud. He cares about his mission and his troops. His sense of honor was as apparent as his appraisal of the situation was forthright.

He left no doubt that he would not waste a life, or dishonor the valor of those who have died in the defense of this nation, if he thought the goal was untenable. His assessment and perseverance should have been a warning to the terrorists and had them cowering in rat holes.

Tragically, this national opportunity to cement our solidarity and resolve to defeat the terrorists was missed. In front of the world, the Democrats split with America and sided with al Qaeda, Syria and Iran. This grotesque display of betrayal was an outrage; and an unforgivable blemish on America.

Terrorists, worldwide, must have been thrilled and bolstered by their support. How many additional graves will be dug to bury innocent civilians, our allies and our troops because of their betrayal? The number is countless.

The congressional Democrats unholy union with the terrorists was only overshadowed by the treachery of Senators Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Dodd, Biden and Representative Kucinich.

These Democratic presidential candidates refused to condemn the blasphemy of George Soros’ proxy, moveon.org. Each candidate, individually, refused to condemn the ad placed in the New York Times by this vermin—an ad equating General Petraeus with Benedict Arnold.

Any American with a shred of pride in our nation should take the patriotism of these political lice at face value. They are an ethically bankrupt gang of collaborators. Not one placed the nation’s security above their political ambitions. Not one is worth the sweat of an American GI.
