Take Down the Red, White and Blue

There is every indication that Senator Obama will be elected president. The core of his constituency is composed of attorneys, bureaucrats, educators, pro-abortion advocates, union members, minorities, the young (read hopelessly naïve), the illiterate, the media and the Bush haters.

Most conservatives despise President Bush as well, but for different reasons. Government spending increased 40% since his first inauguration, and he turned a blind eye to illegal immigration.

In hindsight, he didn’t blow the whistle loud enough on Fannie and Freddie. Mr. Compassionate Conservative should be held over the fire that created the worldwide fiscal meltdown. That’s fair because he is as guilty as Representative Barney Frank, Speaker Pelosi, Senator Reid and Senator Dodd for selling out America.

There is no forgiveness for that. Now here is the irony of ironies. He set the stage for Obama. The fiscal meltdown, a consequence of Democratic housing welfare legislation, is propelling Obama’s numbers. The electorate is ignoring reality. Congress prepares the budget and writes the rules.

Obama handed ACORN over $800,000 and the Democrats attempted to hide $600 million dollars in the bailout legislation for these welfare scavengers. This is the same organization that is stuffing the ballot boxes in the contested states. These ploys predict Obama’s real agenda.

An Obama win will bring a four year encore of the fiscal policies that have drenched the nation in debt. The taxpayers will be slapped around unmercifully. Entitlements, whether they are called income re-distribution or socialism, will drain opportunity by siphoning capital into the unproductive segment of society.

Business taxes and regulations will skyrocket. To survive, large corporations will abandon the US. The strength of the New York Stock Exchange will be depleted as companies abandon it for Great Britain’s exchanges. In less than four years New York will be a backwater financial center.

America can recover from this battering as it did during the Clinton years when a Republican controlled Congress shoved welfare reform down his throat. Of course, this is not guaranteed.

The Democrats and Obama support citizenship for illegal aliens. These are the same politicians who promote sanctuary cities and believe illegal aliens should have immediate access to the total array of US welfare programs. They hope to turn 12 million illegal aliens, and their families still residing in South and Central America, into US citizens.

Within four years they can add about 30 million Democratic voters. The chance of this happening is almost a given with Obama and Michelle in the White House and the Democrats in control of a filibuster proof congress. You can trust this will be one of their highest legislative priorities.

And it gets uglier. Obama can pack the Supreme Court with leftwing radicals who will ignore the Constitution. They will manufacture rights to welfare out of thin air. The nation will die from a thousand cuts.

This will be the history of America if it elects a president who can’t prove that he is a US citizen.

Senator Biden's Conscience

Take another look at Senator Joe Biden. Since the primary season began, he has made a number of statements that Senator Obama’s campaign staff would like to have expunged from the record.

The liberal dominated media universally refers to Biden as a gaffe machine. These pro-Obama bed wetters have ended any pretense of being impartial. They have lied, distorted the truth and fabricated falsehoods to help Obama achieve victory.

Thus, there is no wonder why these media pissants have resurrected and polished Senator Biden’s reputation for misspeaking. It is the perfect antidote for dismissing his “gaffes.” This perception is so pervasive that even the Republicans resort to ridiculing his foot in mouth disease. That’s a mistake.

Senator Biden’s greatest flaw is that he has a conscience. He is a compulsive truth teller, and has a penchant to state it at inopportune times. The gaffe label inoculates Senator Obama from his partner’s assessment of his weaknesses.

No one in the media is accusing Senator Biden of being foolish, lacking insight or of being unqualified for the vice presidential post. In fact, it is quite the opposite. They extol his insight, experience and judgment.

So how should the voters interpret Senator Biden’s “gaffes?” It’s reasonable to conclude that Senator Biden’s slip-of-the-tongue remarks, although not calculated or deliberate, offer an insight into his assessment of an Obama presidency. He is inadvertently telling us Senator Obama is not ready for prime time.

Senator Biden has warned us that Obama lacks the experience and maturity to handle the reigns of government. He has cautioned us that our enemies will welcome an Obama presidency. He has told us that America will be challenged and Americans won’t like President Obama’s test results.

He has told us that Senator McCain is the superior candidate. That can’t be construed as a gaffe; that is the assessment of someone who has spent thirty years in Congress.

He has prepared us for Obama Economics by equating Obama’s vision of unrestrained welfare with patriotism. That is a strange, defensive statement from the mouth of a liberal. Even Biden foresees the economic havoc that Obama’s unquenchable appetite for accelerated government spending will reap.

Only Obama’s wife, Michelle, and Reverend Wright, both racist America haters, stand closer to this man, who-would-be-president, than Biden. What has Biden learned about Obama that frightens him? Has Obama shared his real vision for America with this man?

It’s doubtful that Senator Biden will ever be a member of Obama’s inner circle. Obama will never trust him because Joe is a patriot and has a conscience. And that is the core element that separates Obama from Senator Biden, Senator McCain and Governor Palin.

Obama’s ambition to be president has never been thwarted by honor or a conscience. For Obama, truth is subjective. It has never stood in the way of his ambition. And that is what frightens a decent man like Senator Biden.

The Black Trap

The media treated the endorsement of Senator Obama by former Secretary of State, Colin Powell, as a surprising event.

Talk about unabashed nonsense. His announcement was about as astonishing as Oprah Winfrey, the Congressional Black Caucus and 96% of black Americans supporting Obama’s candidacy. They are all using the same rubber stamp. His revelation simply confirmed that he is black. Who knew?

Powell touted Obama as a “transformational” candidate. In the liberal lexicon, that means black. It should be noted that Powell, when asked, gave no other reason for his decision. He did mention Obama’s character, and that Obama’s election would please the Europeans and Arabs.

In the cold light of day, Colin Powell defined himself. He puts ethnicity ahead of national security, economic security, energy independence and the survival of capitalism.

That’s a lot to sacrifice to appease our enemies, competitors and those who believe that a black president should trump every other consideration. In context, his endorsement also indicates that blacks, as a percentage of the population, are more race-centric than other minorities and whites in this country.

Blacks see Obama as one of their own, with his hand near the welfare spigot. Sadly, it appears they have succumbed to the big lie that they need government handouts to survive. The tragedy of this mentality is that welfare is what stands between them and affluence.

There is a more erroneous note to this. The Democrats deny that capitalism creates unlimited wealth and opportunity. Yes, it needs oversight to protect the investors and employees. But it offers an unlimited potential for success.

For fifty years the Democrats have spurred class warfare by treating opportunity as a zero sum game. Whether it is called racial/gender preference, or diversity, or affirmative action, the methodology sparks class warfare. Restricting one race’s opportunity to benefit another race creates resentment.

The Democrats introduced and enforced political correctness to dampen dissent. Political correctness is doublespeak. It suffocates truth, and brands those who question racial or gender quotas as mean spirited racists and misogynists.

It is need that inspires achievement, and it’s achievement that earns respect. The Democrats substituted the need to achieve on merit and personal initiative with welfare and affirmative action.

So don’t blame the blacks for being in this quandary. They were enticed by the liberal agenda. Now they are so in debt to the government that they can’t cut the bonds.

Many whites working in company towns, living in company housing, and in debt to the company stores, were trapped in an equally vicious cycle at the beginning of the Twentieth Century. The collapse of these industry towns left the workers with one choice. Start again or starve. They made it.

Obama is correct when he says change is needed. But convincing the next generation of blacks that they are inferior and require government handouts to survive and flourish isn’t change. Chaining blacks to government entitlements to retain power is a crime against humanity.

Beyond Anger

Last night’s presidential debate clarified one thing. If America’s taxpayers don’t revolt, what’s left of their standard of living will be flushed down the entitlement rat hole.

Government spending is out of control and the nation is drowning in debt. Both candidates addressed this issue; only one candidate, Senator McCain, proposed a reduction in spending.

It’s about time Americans heard a candidate admit government spending is out of control.

Anger doesn’t describe my attitude toward Congress, the media and the trillion dollar bailout. The politicians are wrapped around each other like pigs in a blanket. The US media is a propaganda machine worthy of Russia. And the bailout is a slow motion sucker punch.

Throw in Senator Obama, socialist extraordinaire, who plays the race card every time he is cornered. Then there is that lame excuse for a Republican called Senator McCain. He has only one thing going for him; he’s not Senator Obama.

Sadly, McCain is the nation’s only chance. He is like an old lawn mower that you hope will make it through one more season.

Now for good measure, toss in the Democratic fornicator, Tim Mahoney, Florida, who replaced a Republican pedophile. He stated that his personal life is none of our business. This is the last refuge of a political skunk in the congressional playbook. And it’s typical of their arrogance.

In the midst of this slop fest, we discover ACORN deliberately, and with malice, blackmails banks with bad publicity, if they fail to grant mortgages to the undeserving, including illegal aliens. In their spare time these slime bags are preparing to stuff the ballot boxes in 11 states with millions of phony votes. And those who confront them are called racists.

But that figures. Senator Obama helped train them, sent them $800,000 from his campaign chest, and prepared legislation which would have prohibited their prosecution. It’s no wonder why they love his style. And his allies in Congress twice attempted to hand ACORN $500 to $600 million which they buried in the bailout proposals.

And you expect the status quo to change with these unrepentant thieves in charge of the treasury?

Now take a look at President Bush, Mr. Compassionate Conservative. During his reign, government spending rose 40%. He doesn’t have the guts to confront the Democrats for the Freddie and Fannie debacle. In fact, he just handed them ownership of the banks. That’s their reward for nearly destroying the nation’s fiscal solvency.

But then again, why would a president who left our borders undefended and sought amnesty for 12 million illegal immigrants find fault with welfare programs that bankrupt the nation.

And the pile gets higher. Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid are preparing the $150 billion stimulus component of Senator Obama’s $860 billion entitlement vision. If you work for a living, you won’t see a penny of this. But you will feel it, when the national debt and taxes smother any opportunity to invest or save.

Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society legislation forced the second parent into the workplace to cover the family’s taxes for government entitlements. Senator Obama’s vision will require the retraction of the child labor laws.

This isn’t an election, it’s a rigged lottery. The Democrats will purchase the winning tickets with expanded taxes. They are negotiating with their constituency, promising to exchange the winning tickets (read welfare) for votes.

Taxpayers are outnumbered. They only have a 1 in 5 chance of winning the pot. Welcome to the 2008 presidential election.

What Taxpayers Heard

To put the right word to it, the second presidential debate was, well, unrewarding. It was filled with boilerplate clichés in response to the dumb questions that were asked in the first debate.

What both candidates said could have been condensed in a message on the back of a postcard. On the bright side, all of us walked away knowing that class warfare is alive and well. It’s obvious that Senator Obama’s experience as a Community Organizer made him an expert in this field.

It was nice to learn that Senator Obama feels our pain. Of course, for those who pay taxes, his $860 billion pile of sympathy isn’t very appealing. And for the record, raising taxes on those who pay the taxes, in all honesty, shouldn’t be labeled as change.

This kind of thing has been around since President Lyndon B. Johnson introduced the Great Society $5 trillion ago. Higher taxes are higher taxes, and shouldn’t be confused with problem solving, fairness, vision or patriotism.

But the fifty percent of Americans, who don’t contribute any income taxes to the federal government, should be pleased to learn that they will receive a refund.

Senator Obama kind of skipped over how anyone who doesn’t pay taxes is entitled to a refund. It kind of sounds like income redistribution. Maybe he copied this idea from Massachusetts’ foremost socialist, Rep. Barney Frank.

But let’s stay positive. Maybe the welfare checks sent to these folks will bear the name of the individual or family who sacrificed to contribute the funds. Certainly the recipients will pen nice thank you notes to their benefactors. Ok! Ok! That’s assuming they can speak, read and write English, skills not required to cash a welfare check.

And it’s nice to know that Senator Obama wants all Americans to have access to the same quality healthcare that we provide illegal aliens and deadbeats. Those weren’t his words; but that was the heart of his message. All it will require is raising the taxes on the tax payers. You have to admit, that’s a pretty simple formula.

Maybe Obama didn’t get the memo. The hospitals and medical practitioners are inflating the costs of the insured patients to cover the cost of services for the uninsured. There is nothing like 15 million illegal aliens choking the emergency rooms to send medical insurance premiums skyrocketing.

That makes one think that somewhere in this healthcare mess there may be a better solution to reduce costs. And Obama’s remedy has a déjà vu smell about it. If history is any indicator, raising taxes $65 billion annually to subsidize healthcare will send its cost into the stratosphere.

For example, the Higher Education Act, 1965, unleashed a feeding frenzy in our universities. Tuition costs went ballistic immediately after $140 billion in Pell grants and government loans became available every year.

The cost of a college education has risen 30% faster than inflation since the government began subsidizing higher education. On Wall Street this behavior is called greed.

So giving the healthcare industry a pipeline to the US Treasury might not be such a good idea. Again, in fairness, it’s understandable why people who don’t work or pay taxes are enthusiastic about Senator Obama’s proposal.

Taxpayers might be a bit leery of Obama’s proposals. But again, in fairness, class warfare will end within a few years after Senator Obama is elected President. It just isn’t an issue in Third World Countries.

By the way, Senator McCain only made one statement of significance. He won’t raise taxes on the tax payers. You know, that’s not a bad idea.

Rats in Charge of the Lifeboat

The trillion dollar bailout proposal didn’t come with an apology from the government. That’s what angers the nation.

Until the Republican revolt in the House of Representatives, it appeared no one in Congress had the guts to say the proposed legislation didn’t solve the problem. It was a cover-up that exonerated the guilty. The Senate version passed last night was cut and run for cover legislation.

The $700 billion solution only served to continue the Democrats’ con started 31 years ago. To ingratiate its constituency they used selective statistics, collected by entities such as the Boston Federal Reserve, to prove the existence of institutionalized discrimination against minority borrowers.

The Federal Reserve had reported that the percentage of approved loans was lower for minority applicants than for their white counterparts. The evidence was indisputable. However, the credit unworthiness of the minority applicants, whose requests were denied, was omitted in the public report.

The Democrats ignored this fact. They blamed the lopsided, mortgage ratios on racial discrimination. This public hoodwinking allowed President Carter to sign the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) in 1977.

The Democrats didn’t lie; they distorted the truth to subsidize the collateral of risky borrowers with de facto government guarantees. In effect, the CRA eradicated ethical standards for lending to correct a non-existent injustice. This was touted as Equal Opportunity Lending, which officially rebuked sound banking principles and inaugurated the era of no-collateral lending.

HUD, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were honed to encourage lenders to participate in this charade. Mortgage originators were given a license to steal, and steal they did. Twice the Bush Administration asked Congress to reign in this pillage. Rep. Barney Frank told them not to worry.

When the housing market (fueled by sub-prime mortgages) cooled, the toxic paper couldn’t be hidden by Barney’s friends. The Housing and Economic Recovery Act of July, 2008 threw $300 billion at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to continue the charade.

Not one paragraph in this legislation tightened the lending practices that produced the need for this bailout. Worse yet! This legislation funneled taxpayer money into militant, leftwing advocacy groups, such as ACORN, to promote the rape of the US taxpayers.

The failure of Fannie and Freddie dried up these Democratic slush funds. That’s why Pelosi, Reid, Dodd and Frank buried hundreds of millions of dollars for these outfits in the small print of the $700 billion bailout legislation.

So don’t be deceived. The rejected $700 billion bailout was never intended to reign in the lending practices that created the financial meltdown. It was a $700 billion taxpayer subsidy for no-collateral loans. It blessed the status quo.

Pelosi, Reid, Dodd and Barney Frank should be jailed for treason. And the executives that deliberately betrayed the public trust, or by omission, should be banned from the industry, if not hung.

And Obama? His association with Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson, Tim Howard, Bill Ayers and ACORN isn’t happenstance. These are his allies. These thieves financed his ascendancy to promote the distortions that empowered and enriched them.

Whatever Will Be, Will Be

The current US fiscal meltdown has one positive note. It forced Senator Obama to define himself. After comparing the potential of the current economic upheaval to the nightmare of the Great Depression, he calmly told the nation that he could be reached on his cell phone if it needed him.

The nation now understands the maturity of his decision making. This man, who would be President, was more concerned with his campaign and preparing for a scheduled debate than the survival of the country. The “Clinton 3 O’clock Call in the Morning” ad was answered.

Obama told the nation not to disturb him. It was an extraordinary response. The consequences of whatever resolution is reached will impact presidential initiatives for a decade. It will define the country’s future economic options, including solutions for energy, healthcare, education, Medicare & Social Security and national defense.

Any person of gravity aspiring to lead the nation would have demanded input into the final formula. Who knew his leadership skills were honed on the music of Doris Day? While the nation teetered, Senator Obama sang “Que Sera, Sera.”

His response provides other insights into his character and talent. It’s more than possible that he had nothing to contribute, or that he didn’t want to be associated with the root cause of the problem, the collapse of a trillion dollar housing welfare scheme.

No proponent of Big Government wants to be branded with the dire results of yet another colossal, failed income redistribution program.

Maybe instinctively, Obama knew the voters would be reviled by the solution promulgated by the leftwing, the nationalization of the financial industry. So he hid under his desk hoping that his political bedmates Rep. Barney Frank, Speaker Pelosi, Senator Dodd and Senator Reid would do the heavy lifting.

Whatever his reason for cowering, his lack of action foretold the future of an Obama White House. The nation’s course would be set by others because he sees himself as a recipient and not a donor. His response portends that his first reaction to any crisis will be to avoid direct conflict, rather than steering the outcome

This parallels and reconfirms the snapshot of the man we momentarily saw when he said he would sit down with Iraq, North Korea, etc. without precondition. This is the man who said an opinion on abortion was above his pay grade; a man who votes “Present” instead of making a decision.

Like a child, he sees himself as the object of affection and not the subject. He has built his career on ingratiating himself. He is the sum total of the curse of affirmative action. He has never stood without help. It is not his lack of experience that should concern the nation; it’s his lack of maturity.

Pundits have suggested that the Oval Office is not suited to on-the-job training. Neither is it a nursery. When the nation is threatened, the White House’s first responses shouldn’t be rolling out a teleprompter while the staff changes the President’s diapers.

Made in America

The leftwing reaction to Sarah Palin is fascinating and enlightening. She is the liberals’ worst nightmare, a political comet hurtling toward the epicenter of the East Coast’s liberal establishment. Their attacks on her are primordial because they fear extinction.

And as with real-estate, it’s all about location, location, location. In America’s heartland Sarah looks like a rising star. The Pedigree Club flies over this geography. The Eastern elite believe the masses huddled in inland communities are a primitive species still clinging to guns and God.

They can’t comprehend people who have more faith in their neighbors’ common sense than the pontifications of a press reared in Ivy League schools. The East Coast conclave believes the liberal agenda should be accepted as Manifest Destiny, an inevitable future.

They view the inhabitants of Middle America as primitives standing in the way of progress. They despise Sarah because she stirs memories. Her career reminds Americans that they don’t have to suffer fools. She reminds Americans that morality, merit, patriotism, self-reliance, motherhood and apple pie are worthy of respect.

And she reminds Americans that they are not pets. They aren’t dependent on a clique of elitists, including Europeans, who have a single goal, to be the sole arbiters of opportunity, respectability and acceptance.

It’s Sarah’s style of independence that liberals want to expunge from the American psyche. She has proven that Americans can still succeed without government nourishment. She is the antithesis of the liberal agenda. She represents the ideals that built the United States of America.

They fear she will spark a revolution. They fear she will instill people with a sense of pride in building their own future. They fear her independent spirit will incite people to take control of their lives and vanquish the hordes of bureaucrats eating away at their freedoms.

The liberal agenda is about creating a society subservient to government. Liberals abhor independent thought. They abhor criticism. And they can’t afford to let anyone lift the rock they slither under before elections.

Want confirmation? Senator Obama has rebuked every position he held prior to his nomination. He knows he can’t win the election if he keeps his real colors unfurled. He needs a teleprompter to remind himself what to espouse. He’s parroting a foreign language.

That’s why his campaign’s attacks on Sarah are personal. His leftwing cohorts can only question her intelligence, her education, her experience and fitness as a mother. They can’t attack her politics without giving away their own positions.

With an 85% favorability rating as Alaska’s Governor, it’s difficult to use scorched earth tactics on her record; a record Obama can’t match.

Her favorability numbers indicate ordinary Americans like her brand of politics. That’s the fuse that Sarah has lit. McCain introduced a real American to America. And she reminds them of who they are and what they can accomplish.

Sarah will carry McCain into office because it’s her message and persona that’s resonating. She’s about putting America back in the hands of Americans. She’s about what Made in America means.

Franchising Corruption

The recent article, Ten Myths about Budget Deficits and Debt, by Brian M. Riedl, The Heritage Foundation, balances the economic causes, effects and conditions that America faces.

Anyone interested in cutting through the political mudslinging in this election cycle will be well served spending fifteen to twenty minutes reading this non-partisan review which places the numbers in context. The complete article with graphs and sources can be found at www.Heritage.org.

The article doesn’t address the pessimism documented in the national polls; nor was it intended to do so. It calculates the economic health of the nation in objective dollar terms. Mr. Riedl’s calculations are cerebral and honest. He doesn’t play with statistics.

Mr. Riedl, an economic wonk, concludes the country is doing okay, but he doesn’t consider the human condition in his analysis. There is no sympathy or empathy in numbers. He leaves these morsels to the pandering politicians and internet scribes.

By definition the country is not in a recession. That’s hard to believe, but technically true. Productivity and the GDP are up because the US economy is entwined with the global market.

It’s wonderful that the workers in China and Indonesia are doing more with less. This improves the profit margins of the US corporations that have abandoned American workers. Of course, their investors are happy and the annual bonuses of executives will be bountiful.

Once proud American corporations are now foreign employment franchises. To maintain the pretense of being American, most of these companies keep their headquarters stateside. Their stocks trade on US exchanges and their annual reports are still available in English.

The Reagan Administration opened the doors to illegal immigration by handling the issue benignly. Granting a “one time” amnesty all but franchised illegal immigration. It looked like a blank check to the fifteen million illegal aliens that have since swept across our open borders.

This unintended consequence provides at least fifteen million people, ready to accept sub-standard wages. Now throw in millions of underpaid HB-1, educated workers to displace Americans who demand a decent wage and presto, profits soar.

In his book, Lion in the White House, the author, Aida D. Donald, quotes Theodore Roosevelt, then a Manhattan State Assemblyman, about the owner of New York City’s elevated railway, Jay Gould. Roosevelt said that Jay and his partners “belong to that most dangerous of all classes, the wealthy criminal class."

This seems to capture the essence of today's meltdown of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. The only goal of their executives was the rapid accumulation of personal wealth. They disregarded the well-being of the companies, the employees, the stockholders, and, most importantly, the nation.

Senator Obama recognizes the problem. His solution: Raise taxes on these robber barons and automatically distribute the revenues to the victims. Rather than eliminating the core problem, his solution franchises it. Obama’s plan legitimates Congressional corruption.

The fraud in Washington, DC won’t end until national revenues are off limits to business. As boring as Senator McCain is, if he cleans government of the lobbyists and the legislation (earmarks and subsidies) that their clients are buying, he will restore confidence in government.

Hillary's Last Hope Wears a Skirt

The contest between Senator Clinton and Senator Obama concentrated the nation’s attention on gender and ethnicity. Voter alignment and sentiment swirled around these issues.

The candidates’ political agendas were nearly identical. The media’s attention on the soaring rhetoric of Senator Obama and its love of his skin color caught the Clintons by surprise. Bill and Hillary thought they owned the airwaves and the press. That’s the assumption that sank her campaign.

Senator Obama won eleven straight primary contests before he was vetted. Then the rules of political correctness hampered the Clintons’ counter attack. After Reverend Wright, Bill Ayers and Michelle and Barack Obama’s politics were unveiled, the Clintons were unmercifully slapped around for mentioning these issues.

That’s the irony of her loss. Political correctness was concocted by the Clintons’ aficionados to shade the truth and change the rules of debate. Gender was the politically correct horse Hillary planned on riding into the White House. So she doesn’t deserve sympathy.

Hillary’s fortunes changed once Barack’s true colors were identified. Political correctness was trumped by the privacy of the voting booth. Although she carried every swing state in the final rounds, her resurrection came too late. The nation will discover on November 4, 2008 how many Americans regret pulling the Obama lever.

Senator Obama remains the Democratic nominee because the Convention Delegates knew that they would lose the black vote if they selected the best candidate. They were trapped, having depended on blacks for fifty years to keep them in office. Without the black vote the Democratic Party would cease to exist as a national contender.

Finally, the election is focusing on issues rather than the fanciful images created by the liberal media. It’s McCain verses Obama. Character, experience, economics, US security, energy, trade, education, healthcare, Social Security, Medicare, immigration and taxes are now percolating into the national discussion.

It’s now about liberal solutions verses conservative solutions. It’s about reality and ideals. The dynamics of this election have been changed by Sarah Palin. Senator McCain correctly portrays himself as neutral. He is neither fish nor fowl. So in the cold light of day, this election now pits the politics of Sarah Palin against the politics of Senator Obama.

There are two debates that Americans would relish: 1) Sarah vs. Barack, and 2) Sarah Palin vs. Speaker Pelosi. These contests would define the underlying choice Americans will make.

Who would win these debates? The jury is still out. But Hillary Clinton would benefit if Sarah walked away with America on her side. A McCain/Palin win in November would leave the door open for a Clinton run in 2012. Who would have guessed that Hillary’s last hope would be wearing a skirt?

A final irony: Sarah wouldn’t be a factor if Obama had selected Hillary as his running mate. That decision, of and by itself, identifies his petulance, immaturity and arrogance.

Kitty Litter Economics

Educated Americans understand the Kitty Litter Principle underpins the Democratic Party’s theory of economics. Thus, the backdrop of Senator Obama’s acceptance speech in Denver would have been more representative of his politics if pallets of kitty litter ensconced the stage.

It would have been an inclusive symbol, representing the productive segment of society he plans on soaking, which was the essence of his message.

His heart went out to the disappearing Middle Class. He forgot to mention that this once robust segment of society has been nearly taxed and legislated out of existence. This backbone of America’s progress was crushed by sales, toll, excise, income, property, inheritance and capital gains taxes. Even their savings, retirement programs and Social Security benefits are taxed.

America’s bread and butter core has endured fifty years of legislation that debunked opportunity built on personal initiative, merit and savings. They lost out to legislation that pitted their aspirations against those who loot the system. And here’s the irony. The Middle Class was forced to fund its own demise.

Now they are contending with illegal aliens for the scraps.

The Middle Class has been robbed blind. They have nothing left to give after five decades of being treated like kitty litter. They can’t absorb any more. And what have they received for bankrolling the Democrats’ scheme to share the responsibility? They are drifting into the ranks of the poor.

The Democrats in local, state and national politics have drained the Middle Class. Now they are targeting the wealthy and Upper Middle Class. And the stakes are getting higher because these survivors are expected to support the expanding ranks of poor created by confiscatory taxation.

It’s a vicious cycle. Taxation and over regulation have already destroyed the mainstay of Middle America, namely, manufacturing jobs. Made in America labels have all but disappeared, along with the Middle Class. This is not a coincidence. When large manufacturers fled the US, they took the jobs with them.

Obama plans on expanding government and increasing benefits to all who knock, including twenty to forty million illegal immigrants. Where will the money come from to achieve these goals? His answer: Raid the remaining businesses for the new revenues.

Understand! Senator Obama’s promise to reduce taxes on the Middle Class is a hideous deceit that will bring Americans to their knees. His proposals will result in a greater economic catastrophe than has befallen the Middle Class.

His plan will suck the economy dry of its last source of investment capital, which in turn will send unemployment beyond anything experienced during the Great Depression.

And here is the kicker. Tax revenues will plummet and government welfare will collapse under its own weight. If the Democrats have not been discredited by this time, they will again raise taxes to protect the poor created by their confiscatory tax policies. This is the hoax that will drive the last nail in America’s economic coffin. And this is what Obama has promised.

The Obama Prototype

Well, it’s official. Senator Obama chose Senator Biden, Delaware, as his vice presidential running mate. The decision has been dissected, vetted and spun by the press. Certainly his experience will have some impact on the contest. More than likely it will be marginal.

Senator McCain will announce his decision this week. Unless he selects a liberal, pro-choice partner, the impact will be nearly identical.

Vice presidential nominees play about the same role as cheer leaders in national sporting events. They are choreographed promoters and paid defenders of the team. They suit up for the game and step into the limelight for a few months before disappearing.

They echo the game plan defined by the coaches and quarterback. They are there to cheer. They don’t even have to believe in the message. Enthusiastic lip service is the only required commitment. They end up spending most of their time accusing the opponent of committing infractions. Baby sitters have more responsibility.

The entire process is a silly diversion. It keeps the media entertained and the talking heads employed. What’s-their-names will appear on bumper stickers, eat a lot of chicken and sleep with their megaphones. But when the sun comes up in mid-September, it will still be Obama vs. McCain.

It’s unclear why vice presidential debates are held. The participants aren’t allowed to voice original thoughts. No one expects them to contradict the party line, and they won’t. The nation would be better served with more presidential question and answer bouts.

But it’s easy to be stampeded by the media hoopla. Maybe it’s a saving grace. At least, the selection process is a distraction from the current economic reality. While the nation faces an energy crisis of epic proportions, Congress is on vacation. So by default the media is discussing vice presidents.

Only the truly stupid don’t relate the rising unemployment and the near meteoric inflation of consumer goods to the cost of energy. That’s the noose around every American’s neck. It needs immediate resolution.

So what are we hearing? McCain doesn’t know how many houses his wife owns and Obama isn’t supporting the results of his father’s libido. It’s an outrage that these distractions and the VP beauty contest are headlining the news.

Potentially, neither vice president will have as much impact on this election as Speaker Pelosi. If Americans recognize that Pelosi and a handful of Democrats are playing environmental roulette with the nation’s well-being, the election is over.

Single handedly she will defeat Senator Obama, again, if the voters realize that she is the prototype for what he aspires to be. He is nothing more than a Pelosi clone. And next to Senator Obama, she is the scariest politician on our shores. Compared to her, Senator Biden is a footnote.

Compare Skill Sets

Never confuse philosophical debates with the game of chess. Although both are contests with winners and losers, the outcome of debates are determined by many subjective factors.

A debate is influenced by the physical appearance, likeability, facial and body gestures, attire, voice intonation and the words chosen by the participants. The winner is helped by these factors, plus the predisposition of the judges.

In many ways, debates are beauty contests. A weak argument, well presented, can trounce a strong argument poorly delivered. A debate can be won by the participant who puts the “best shine on his or her shoes.”

In contrast, chess depends on strategy and execution. With the exception of intimidation, subjective factors don’t influence the outcome. It’s a game of absolutes. The results become unalterable historic facts which denote the exact move and counter move that turned the tide.

That’s the real world that the President of the United States faces. Each day the White House awakes to a zero sum game of life and death. The person seated in the Oval Office plays chess with the world. Presidents and US opponents come and go, but the responsibility to win and the consequences of a loss are constants.

The presidential contest is a debate which employs the strategy of chess. The outcome is determined by the campaigns’ plan, execution and equally important, the voters’ perception of the candidates. There are no rules. The campaigns and candidates influence, but can’t control the opponents’ moves, and their resources are always limited.

That’s the world the President of the United States faces. But unlike the candidates’ lyrical theatrics, a president’s decisions impact the security and well-being of 300 million citizens. Favorable sound bites in the evening news don’t define presidential leadership, or change the endgame.

And unlike chess opponents, presidential candidates can take their moves back. The pundits and party hacks, depending on their political affiliation, bless or disparage these message changes as either refinements or backing out of a dead-end.

There is a red flag that is ignored by these reactions to campaign about-faces. It’s one thing for a political candidate to retreat to higher ground and another for the President of the United States. The latter can’t pull the trigger and take the bullet back. The nation lives with the consequences.

There is compromise, but no acceptable margin for error in the White House. A charismatic presidential candidate can say “oops” and survive, but presidents don’t have this luxury. No candidate, who survives on backtracking or skirts the issues, is ready to assume the office.

The 2008 presidential campaign is a competition between Senator Obama, a polished speaker with shiny shoes, and a seasoned, international chess player, Senator McCain. Either can win.

Let’s hope the electorate understands we are war and pretty doesn’t count. We need a leader who will strengthen the battlements and dominate the chess board; not one who will weaken the US position to appease the players sitting on the opposite side of the board.

Where's My Refund?

There are a handful of US companies that are truly American born and bred. They symbolize what makes America a nice place to live, work and raise families. Each has contributed to America’s uniqueness. They are the personification of our strength, prosperity, perspective and history of innovation.

These corporations have all experienced brutal competitive challenges. Some have staggered and a few awoke to headlines which declared their imminent death. Their grit, guts, dedicated employees and vision have made them icons.

It’s difficult to imagine our country without the Eastman Kodak Company, IBM, Coca Cola, 3M, John Deere, General Electric, Kelloggs, Ford Motor Company, Johnson & Johnson, Anheuser Bush, Procter and Gamble, American Express, Intel, Black and Decker, General Mills, Federal Express, Microsoft, Sears, General Motors, UPS, the Walt Disney Company, Hershey’s, McDonalds, ExxonMobil and Caterpillar.

It would be impossible to find a family that hasn’t benefited from their achievements. Children can identify their products, and most have played with toys emblazoned with their logos. What scratch hasn’t healed faster with a superhero band-aid? What child hasn’t listened to cereal go snap, crackle and pop? Now that’s America!

These corporations have impacted our lives, our routines and our senses. They have improved the quality and enjoyment of life. They have pampered us with convenience and raised our standards and expectations. They have empowered our lives.

The energy, raw material, technology, transportation, communication, pharmaceutical, insurance, medical and financial institutions can fill reams of paper with hallmark names. They are the nation’s backbone. They invested in our future and changed our perception of speed, agility, performance and security.

Now write your memoirs. Set a chapter aside to compare the benefits that private enterprise contributed to your happiness, health and well-being to that of government.

No Kidding! You discovered that there’s not much beyond a high school diploma, national security, a road system, the local police and fire department, the Constitution and a smattering of agencies which protected your rights and health that provided the benefits of the private sector.

Yet the government gobbled up at least forty percent of your lifetime earnings. Be honest with yourself. You haven’t gotten much for your money. It’s a safe bet that you only dealt once with companies that charged outrageous prices and delivered shoddy products and services.

So tell us again why you vote for politicians who want to enlarge the government’s share of your income.

Okay! Okay! It’s understood that masochists enjoy abuse. They enjoy the IRS' catchy motto, Snag, Cripple and Gouge. Setting aside those with this proclivity, tell us again why you are a Democrat. Those that have milked the welfare system their entire lives need not respond. We already know why you love Harry, Nancy and Barack.

Fairytales Have Come True

The attitude of America’s citizens has changed since 9/11. Generosity and patience are at a premium. Our optimism is jaded by uncertainty, our confidence soiled by apprehension and our horizon is blurry. America is angry. Its citizens want change.

This is what ignited Senator Obama’s candidacy. He was a breath of fresh air. Now he is just contributing to the political pollution. Since the packaging peeled off, we see another insufferable, elitist politician who stutters without a teleprompter. And Senator McCain is only a few steps closer to starboard and maybe a few degrees forward.

We need a statesman at the helm, but will end up with Daffy Duck or Elmer Fudd. Neither candidate has offered a concise blueprint to put the country back on course. McCain is carrying notes on a napkin, and Obama’s vision makes Little Red Riding Hood look perceptive.

This Congress’ legislative record, by comparison, raises the Seven Dwarfs to the status of a world class think tank. What don’t the Republicans and Democrats understand about the message Americans sent during the primaries? We are furious. We are sick and tired of programs that throw Americans overboard to appease our competitors, enemies and southern neighbors.

We are tired of political correctness distorting the issues and smearing the truth. We would rather have our strength respected than our downfall beloved.

Congress treats our future like a game of chance. They gamble and tinker with our lives for political gain. Statecraft has been reduced to party gamesmanship. Lobbyists and freeloaders crush us with debt and devour our stamina.

Congress has succeeded in dividing the ship of state into competing constituencies. We have become a nation of sub-cultures. Class warfare, euphuisms and doublespeak are their weapons of choice to chip away at our core values and undermine our traditions. They have flushed merit down the toilet which is extinguishing our freedom and valor.

They thrive on indecision because solutions reduce their influence.

They think we are fools, but it is Congress that is delusional. They think the West can negotiate with terrorists and that our allies aren’t self-serving. But war is not about compromise or building love. Our survival is not negotiable. Iran is going nuclear. While these DC miscreants dither, the lynchpin of Islamic terrorism is planning our destruction.

So what is left to debate? It’s Iran that has a decision to make. Destroy the centrifuges or become the world’s largest parking lot. Only those who believe that Wile E. Coyote is a victim of the Road Runner’s lack of compassion can image Obama delivering this message. That’s why terrorists praise Allah for his primary victory.

As the data on the cause of global warming mounts, Al Gore makes Chicken Little look like the scientific prophet of the ages. The country is desperate for affordable energy, and Speaker Pelosi has morphed into Snow White. While this Save the Planet princess remains in a coma the Big Bad Wolf is stalking this country. Meanwhile, the Three Little Pigs are getting hammered by unemployment and inflation.

We are tired of being treated like Hanzel & Gretal. We are not lost and we know who always gets stuck paying for the gingerbread house. Get this straight! We are not going to climb into the oven to appease their appetites.

Although the nation will be stuck with McCain or Obama, it is not too late for Congress to think of itself as an American institution.

The Righteous Path of Inclusion

While in Germany, Senator Obama decreed, “People of the world this is our time.” That’s an extraordinary statement which prompts a tiny question. Exactly who are these “people” he is addressing? One is drawn to conclude that his proclamation was a call to arms to everyone in the world who shares his vision.

If so, on that glorious July day in Europe he assumed the mantle of leadership in the battle against inequality on planet earth. Finally, the world is in the presence of a candidate willing to unmask global injustice. How magnanimous! Can a new national holiday be far behind?

Think of the blessings he will bestow on all humankind. With the president of the United States, and its taxpayers, carrying the world’s burdens there will be no need for the United Nations. That’s a good thing. Of course, there is one impediment that may ruffle a few feathers.

The US Constitution clearly states that its president must be born in the United States. If the US president is also the defacto president of the World, the politicians in Syria, Iran, North Korea, Russia, China, Europe and the Third World will demand Equal Opportunity Eligibility. Obama, no stranger to this logic, certainly will work to appease them.

Now it’s clear why he and his friends in the Senate heroically defeated an amendment which would have made English the official language of government. It’s unreasonable to expect newcomers to adopt our customs and language. An official language reeks of discrimination and is a barrier against inclusiveness.

Obama’s disciples were rightfully joyous when the US Supreme Court granted captured Islamic terrorists all the legal rights of US citizens. Certainly this decision screams inclusiveness. When combined with New York City and Boston funding Muslim mosques, the terrorists will soon be shamed into laying down their arms. You can feel the love blooming.

On the home front, Obama’s soul mates are waging a courageous war against the sinister forces demanding businesses verify the social security numbers of job applicants. This is blatant discrimination against illegal aliens, who through no fault of their own happen to be here without permission.

Once Obama, Reid and Pelosi end this cruel practice, people across the globe will recognize that US citizens are serious about giving away their jobs.

Obama’s fellow visionaries are setting the table for the world’s citizens to vote in US elections. They are passionate about laws which prohibit the need for proper identification as a prerequisite for voting. Letting everyone in the world participate in our elections will end this ugly, anti-inclusive discrimination.

And once Obama introduces the grand goals of diversity and multi-culturalism to the world, all will see the advantage of unlimited welfare and doling out opportunity based on gender and ethnicity. This will end the insensitive practice of judging people on their merit.

Certainly all countries will feel compelled to follow the righteous path Obama will clear. They too will eliminate borders and share their bounty. They will provide free education, housing, nutrition and medical care to all who appear on their governments’ doorsteps. Naturally Iran, the Arabs, Russia and Venezuela, in the spirit of kindness, will provide free oil to the world.

Of course there will be naysayers. These are the evil ones that Obama has pledged to destroy. They are the fools who cling to the antiquated concepts of private property, personal responsibility, the rule of law, and selfishly cling to their guns and religion and money.

It's That Simple

The US presidential election is now focused on two presumptive nominees. This concentration of media attention buries the fact that the nation’s direction can’t be predicted merely on the campaign utterances of the winning candidate.

Neither Obama nor McCain will be isolated figures, working alone in a White House vacuum. They will bring teams composed of politically likeminded individuals. We elect a team with a single compass.

The US is engaged in a global war against terrorism and is under economic duress. Our future prosperity and security will be determined by the team the new president selects.

Thus, forecasting the direction the nation will take under either’s watch is best predicated on the candidate’s inner circle of friends, supporters and advisors. It’s this political aggregate that the electorate should, can and must gauge.

Politicians hate hypothetical questions because they bar equivocation. They prefer dealing in circles rather than boxes with those nasty corners. So they trade in the abstract of their own choosing, which provides multiple avenues of escape. In business slang, this is called the view from 50,000 feet.

Americans live much closer to earth. So here is a hypothetical question for the electorate. With the nation’s economic and national security in upheaval, who would you rather have advising the next president?

Condoleezza Rice or Ms. Save the Planet, Speaker Nancy Pelosi

General Petraeus or Mr. We Have Lost the War, Senator Harry Reid

Oliver North or Mr. Flag Burner, William Ayers

Mayor Giuliani or Mr. Sanctuary City, Mayor Gavin Newsom

Governor Tom Ridge or Spend Baby Spend, Governor Duval Patrick

Senator Romney or Mr. UFO, Rep. Dennis Kucinich

Michelle Malkin or Ms. Not Proud of America, Michelle Obama

Glenn Beck or Mr. Tingle Legs, Chris Mathews

Duncan Hunter or Ms. Nationalize Oil and Healthcare, Maxine Waters

Rev. Graham or Mr. Damn the US, Reverend Wright

Senator Orin Hatch or Mr. Welfare, Senator Kennedy

These are the candidates’ political soul mates. These people are representative of those leading the current debate, and those who will influence the US international, domestic, and economic legislation for the next four years.

Compare their positions on illegal immigration, energy, taxation, and border and national security. This is the choice Americans will make in this election. It’s that simple.

Winners Raise the Bar

Obama is a well packaged pretty face who looks and acts presidential. Senator McCain isn’t pretty, and short the intervention of a fairy godmother, this fact won’t change.

On his best day, Senator McCain couldn’t hit a three-pointer from midcourt. But he can fly a jet, take a beating, recover and keep ticking. Senator Obama can’t even take criticism without whimpering.

It’s the difference between being raised by a family, which for generations has honorably served the nation, and being the offspring of affirmative action. One expects to be judged on the merits of his accomplishments and one expects a free ride. One works to win and one demands a lower standard to win.

Senator Obama is living proof that affirmative action creates sissies rather than men, intolerance rather than compassion, and belligerence rather than understanding. Obama epitomizes the decline of the nation’s willingness to stand tall when other countries cower; to put truth ahead of politics.

He believes that might is never right. He would rather see the nation cower than plant its flag for a just cause. That’s his definition of compromise. He is ashamed of our success, because he can’t comprehend the sacrifices it took to build it. This lesson isn’t taught in affirmative action classes. His skill set was built on handouts and political correctness.

Despite Obama’s success at looking presidential during his Middle East pep rally, he remains an untested neophyte, and a wimp. Senator McCain’s international and military experience still stands uncontested. McCain won this round when the Islamic terrorists, Fidel Castro and the Europeans proclaimed Obama their candidate of choice.

We want a US champion. Whether the European socialists swoon at our feet is irrelevant. We have been carrying their water for sixty years. They aren’t partners and are only fair weather friends. They are the prototype for the UN. Their objectives are indistinguishable from our domestic welfare hounds.

The Iraqi Surge is history. Now it’s time for McCain to start articulating a domestic agenda. The message doesn’t need trumpets, lace and ruffles, or an angelic choir. He must layout the facts, and give the electorate credit for knowing the difference between staged choreography and real life.

McCain must remember that most Americans are proud of their flag. They don’t need or want a leader who apologizes for their success. They realize that America’s gains were accomplished by setting the bar higher than our competitors.

McCain's Colors

Senator McCain loves to be called a Maverick. This is not breaking news.

That he repeatedly poked his finger in Republican eyes made him a semi-precious commodity in liberal circles. This moniker, bestowed by the liberal media, kept the left wing crowd hovering around his campaign during the 2000 primaries.

At its core, this mob was pro-Gore and anti-Bush. They thought of McCain as a tarnished Democrat, the enemy of their enemy. That’s why he was blessed with their semi-endorsement.

They jumped back on his bus in this election cycle. Many pundits believe they resurrected his campaign to thwart the conservatives. Although this ascertain is open to speculation, McCain’s comeback certainly isn’t attributable to his charm or politics.

Now that McCain is the Republican presidential nominee, he’s regarded as a threat. The free publicity and fawning have evaporated. Today these anti-Bush jackals see McCain as just another politician who stands between their anointed candidate, Senator Obama, and the Oval Office.

Don’t be surprised or dismayed that he is being treated with the same distain that Senator Clinton endured. The stampede of news anchors to Obama’s Middle East whistle stop tour, and the New York Times’ outright rejection of his rebuttal to an Obama editorial defined their position. He is not the one.

The national media has turned a blind eye on McCain. And short of declaring himself a Democrat and conceding the election to Obama, there is nothing he can do to regain their temporary admiration.

This begs the question: Does McCain realize that his fate is now tied to Republicans, some independents and conservative Democrats?

His political chivalry suggests he hasn’t bridged this reality. Who does he think he is wooing when he dons his Maverick hat and attacks Obama’s detractors? Granted his remarks attract media coverage. But he only hurts himself by providing cover for Obama’s radical political background.

Put this entire election in context. Despite losing the primary contest, Hillary Clinton thrashed Obama in the swing states. She did this positioned as a centrist (relative to Obama). And Reagan won these voters as an unabashed conservative.

Senator Obama has been tagged as an elitist, socialist snob. He is wavering on every issue except his anti-drilling energy policy. Many Americans are having second thoughts about his candidacy. They can be swayed.

And there stands McCain sounding neither like fish nor fowl. He won’t win this election pretending or acting like a wishy-washy socialist, or an anti-Republican candidate.

The 2006 mid-term election provided ample evidence of Republican success when they sound and spend like Democrats. They get run out of town. McCain has a choice. He can either show pride in the conservative label, or kiss the Oval Office good-bye.

Fortunately for McCain, Senator Obama has shown his colors. Now McCain must do the same.

Flight of the Greenbacks

It’s doubtful the outcome of the November, 2008 election will be determined by rational thinking. This bodes well for Democrats. With anger and frustration trumping common sense, it doesn’t take a clairvoyant to see that the Republicans could be in for a real drubbing this fall.

Family incomes are being stretched to the limit by energy costs. People feel they are in jeopardy and are looking for a safe harbor. Unfortunately for Senator McCain, after thirty years of negligence, this predictable energy crisis climaxed on President Bush’s watch.

McCain, the man, isn’t promising miracles because he is restrained by honesty. He feels a moral obligation to explain the cost and consequences of his proposals. This is a wonderful trait for a leader, but an anchor around the neck of a presidential candidate.

In the tradition of Democratic candidates since Mondale, Senator Obama doesn’t suffer from this moral imperative. His campaign is all about benefits. He promises goodies for all. Naturally, he claims that others will be saddled with the bills.

Obama’s brand of unbridled welfare is based on the expectation that the productive members of society won’t protect themselves. Liberals never learn. This false assumption has already led to the near extinction of US based manufacturing.

Obama economics will incite a reign of terror on business. The “others” he targets include companies and individuals who can move their assets off-shore to protect their investors and accumulated wealth. This shift has already accelerated the decline of the New York Stock Exchange.

A microcosm of this cause and effect is being documented in Michigan, California and Massachusetts. Businesses and the educated are bailing out of these brutally taxed liberal conclaves in droves. The migration of talent drains theses states of investment capital, employment opportunities and future prosperity. This is a preview of Obama economics which will bleed the nation dry.

The Democrats control the Senate and the House. While the minority party, Republicans, demand that the abundant US energy reserves be tapped while alternative energy sources come online, the Democrats are selling windmills, sunshine and higher energy taxes as the only solution.

The United States will collapse within a decade if it continues to transfer $700 billion annually to foreign countries. The value of its currency is already plummeting to dangerous lows.

This reality isn’t perceived as a negative by the advocates of big government. Private enterprise has always managed to rebound. Senator Obama and the Democrats are depending on the creativity of private enterprise to cover the cost of their expanded welfare initiatives.

But business can’t survive without affordable energy. So if Obama is elected expect to see a new phenomenon, investors fleeing US markets as rapidly as business abandoned US manufacturing. It will be called Green Flight.

Obama, China and Capitalism

Senator Obama is well shielded from the public.

He only works from well rehearsed scripts and condemns scrutiny as cynicism. This allows him to hide in plain sight. He can emote with great passion with sterling rhetoric without the curse of explaining those nagging details that betray the color of his flag.

Typical of the majority in Congress, he is big on “what” and short on “how.” This occurs when a speaker has no solution or blueprint, or worse, knows the electorate would be repulsed by the consequences of implementing his or her vision. Senator Obama falls into the latter category.

With the blind allegiance of media, he has remained unscathed. Thus, only on rare occasions do we get a glimpse into what’s lurking inside Obama’s mind. His recent ad lib rebuking the general inability of Americans to speak foreign languages spoke volumes about his personal and political breeding.

As all leftwing adherents, he doesn’t understand the engine of capitalism. The language comment defined his utter lack of knowledge about the basics of global economics. English is the track that world commerce runs on. It’s the mandatory second language in emerging industrial nations such as India and China.

It’s their key to actively sharing the wealth of a global economy. Thus these emerging nations are immersing their youth in English because they understand the relationship between English and flourishing in the global marketplace.

And they understand the power of capitalism. It creates wealth and rewards those who re-invest it. This is Communist China’s tacit acknowledgement that the state is the ultimate beneficiary of its citizens’ personal initiative, and the power of private enterprise.

In this unguarded moment Obama recommended Americans learn Spanish. Of course, he was pandering to a Hispanic audience. But this defined his political breeding.

He believes US citizens should speak Spanish so they can better communicate with illegal aliens. He believes the government should speak in all tongues. He places the burden of integrating into society on those who have already succeeded.

Obama is so imbued in affirmative action, diversity and multi-culturalism that he doesn’t see the corrosive effects these leftwing mantras have on limiting individual opportunity and the economic vitality of our nation.

To compensate for a policy that retards the melting pot effect of a common language, the leftwing substitutes government handouts for tough love. It’s no surprise Obama wants income taxes to exceed 50% on the wealthy and to double the capital gains tax on everyone.

It’s a sad day in America when the leaders in Communist China have a better understanding of capitalism and the necessity of learning the English language than one of the United States’ presidential candidates.

The Candidate of Change

Senator Obama is changing his direction so fast that he is leaving skid marks around the microphones. It’s common practice for political candidates on the far left to veer towards the center once they have the party nomination wrapped up.

Of course, his boosters in the media are condoning and defining this political charade as merely position refinements. These little people have memories. They bear in mind the parade of other socialists, such as, Mondale, McGovern and Dukakis, being savagely defeated in general elections.

Obama also faces the problem of inexperience. There is nothing on his resume that qualifies him for the office. The meaning of the expression “a wolf in sheep’s clothing” is well understood. Obama cannot be accused of this. He is the polar opposite, a lamb the media is dressing in wolf’s attire.

Obama’s litany of about faces includes Reverend Wright, Iraq, Iran, the Second Amendment, FISA, Jerusalem’s future status, terrorist rights, gay marriage, NAFTA, faith based charities and tax increases. Give him another ninety days and he will sound like Ronald Reagan.

He told the world that he was the candidate of change. Now we know what he meant.

To his credit, he has remained firm on no drilling off-shore, no nuclear power, no shale oil development and being anti-coal. And he remains true to his belief that healthcare should be nationalized and illegal aliens should receive all the benefits of US taxpayers.

Here’s an irony. The socialist fanatics that hang around websites like moveon.org feel betrayed by his sudden conversion to moderation. They are screaming bloody murder. They don’t understand that he has to lie and deceive to get elected.

These zealots have never figured out that they only comprise about ten percent of the electorate. They haven’t noticed that communism wasn’t successful, and the title “comrade” isn’t especially popular in the heartland. In their defense, just as the inmates confined in any insane asylum, they see themselves as average.

Obama’s legislative record is as thin as an onion skin. But there is one statistic that defines his politics. In three measly years in Congress he has voted for ninety tax increases. This leaves no doubt about an Obama legacy. It will be a Jimmy Carter styled economic nightmare.

Senator Obama is no moderate. Only those who believe in government encroachment on individual liberties, higher taxes and larger welfare roles will vote for him. Who would have guessed the Democrats could find a candidate that makes Senator McCain look appealing?

Maybe a better question. How did we end up with two lousy candidates? One is the product of the false promise of affirmative action, and the other a fiscal conservative without a vision. One has pledged to stifle economic growth; the other is the kissing cousin of Ted Kennedy’s tribe.

They make us nostalgic for the Kerry/Bush choice. And that bar was set below sea level.

McCain Endorses Liberal Stereotypes

Every day Senator McCain provides new reasons for conservatives to stay away from the polls in November. The rationales for Republicans to sit this election out are piling up faster than his contributions. Gee, do you think there is a correlation between his empty campaign coffers and his public pronouncements?

Senator McCain is now promising to fill his cabinet with women. Conservatives would be outraged if he ignored any potential appointee because of gender, race or religion. But filling any government post with a female based solely on her gender is called affirmative action.

Senator Obama has already nailed down the staunch, affirmative action legions. They are called liberals. In fact, he owes his own candidacy to this double standard. He owns this market.

McCain’s decision to pander to this segment of women voters brings his judgment and convictions into question. Does he believe that he has a chance to win the hearts and minds of these socialists? And like the liberals, does he actually believe women are innately incapable of achieving success without special concessions?

Apparently he does, which is a slap in the face to women. This pandering substantiates his attitude. Who knew he believed in the liberals’ assessment of women’s inferiority? Whether the decision to fill his cabinet with women was the idea of some moronic handler, or the result of his own logic, it insulted every successful woman in this country.

There is nothing wrong with wooing female voters. But why select a strategy that deliberately embarrasses them by suggesting they need charity? Why mimic the liberal position? Any woman swayed by the double standard of affirmative action, rather than by her innate confidence in herself, is already a victim of political paralysis.

These voters are not in contention.

But there are millions upon millions of women who have faith in themselves. They don’t see themselves as victims. They see their sex as a random, biological happenstance of birth. They are bright, educated contributors to America’s success. They have never seen themselves as second class citizens, nor have they capitulated to the liberal caricatures of their gender.

They are winners. And their votes are in contention because they have always been on our nation’s front lines. They don’t need John McCain’s endorsement. They don’t need Barack Obama’s sympathy. They are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves, their families and their destiny.

And they are realists. They know that government incompetency and political wrangling are the major contributors to the energy crisis, the illegal alien quagmire, the healthcare inadequacies, the deteriorating educational standards, the nation’s neglected infrastructure and the decline of moral standards. They want a strong nation, fear terrorists and they want to be safe.

These voters are looking for solutions. They want to know how you, Senator McCain, are going to address these issues. So stop depicting them as helpless losers; stop splashing in the liberal agenda.

Treat them like intelligent, rational decision makers. Give them concrete reasons for voting for you. That’s all they are looking for. They will do the rest themselves.

The Media & Senator Obama

Has Senator Clinton fallen off the planet? It seems she was handed her hat and coat the moment she suspended her campaign and wished Senator Obama good luck. It’s as if she was sucked into a galactic black hole as she stepped away from the podium.

There is nary a reference to her in the newspapers, on the broadcast and cable news, on the internet, or in the weekly news publications. It’s conceivable that she is holed up in some private compound licking her wounds after an arduous campaign.

To pretend the disappearance of the Clintons isn’t a blessing would be disingenuous. About as many are thrilled to be living in a Clinton free zone as those who are looking forward to the Bush family permanently retreating to Texas. Twenty years of these families is enough.

But Hillary is not old news. She has enough delegates and ardent supporters to turn the Democratic convention into a socialist blood bath. So even granting her apparent loss and the Democratic Party’s need to unite its base, her out-and-out disappearance is suspect.

There can only be one plausible reason for this anti-matter phenomenon. Our illustrious liberal dominated media is in full throttle to canonize its favorite Christian convert. To accomplish this mission they must capture the hearts of the eighteen million Hillary voters.

They are in full erasure mode; convinced Hillary’s non-existence will swing the Democratic moderates into the Obama camp. This is the same media that slapped her around with the long end of the publicity stick once Obama’s ethnicity and brand of politics inspired its ranks.

There is nothing new about the media’s strategy. For months now it has ignored the volume of good news emanating from Iraq. The stabilization of this country since the military surge is incredible. It worked. A US victory is within grasp.

This substantiated fact makes Senator Reid, Speaker Pelosi and their anointed candidate real losers. That’s why the subject of Iraq is in full erasure mode.

This is the same media that would have Americans believe that Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers and Michelle’s anti-America rhetoric aren’t worthy of its attention. Nor do they believe the US electorate should be informed that Senator Obama voted against adopting English as the official language of government.

This is the same media that hasn’t protested the fact that Senator Obama refuses to make his birth certificate available to the public. Strange, isn’t it? They don’t care what he is hiding although they attempted to have Senator McCain’s candidacy disqualified because he was born in Panama.

This is the same socialist bent media that ignores the 2000+ corporations that have been scooped up by foreign interests since George W. Bush was inaugurated. This detail is difficult to explain without examining the US corporate tax structure.

Is it possible that these media tax & spend aficionados don’t want the public to know the economic consequences of having the second highest corporate taxes in the world? This knowledge puts their candidate’s higher corporate taxes prescription at odds with America’s security.

And why isn’t the media screaming for Obama to participate in the give-an-take, town hall style forums? The answer is obvious. The questions can’t be vetted, nor can the questioners be vetted. The media realizes that he would be ripped to shreds without it running interference for him.

Obama owes his political existence to the media’s protective cocoon.

Liberal Anticipation

Energy, the issue du jour, had Senator Harry Reid sulking in front of the microphones. This Democratic congressional specimen was seen sagging at the knees and weeping bitterly because those nasty Republicans blocked his efforts to raise the taxes on gasoline to reduce its cost.

Good old Harry is not mathematically challenged. Nor is he stupid. He is a socialist who got carried away. Harry and his comrades truly believe that it is better to starve the US economy and a few million families, than to lose the momentum of their big government crusade.

Harry and the other leftwing fanatics running Congress have too much political capital invested in Senator Obama to slow down. Their affirmative action creation is now in contention for the Oval Office; no longer just a fairy godmother in their political dreams.

Harry’s excitement over the prospects of the cooperation of a pure socialist president clouded his judgment. This explains Harry’s poor sense of timing in enthusiastically begging the Senate to raise the cost of energy before an election when it’s already skyrocketing.

Raising taxes on energy is not generally regarded by bread & butter Americans as a good way to reduce its cost. Ordinary Americans believe drilling for oil is preferable to cold homes, high unemployment and empty stomachs.

Harry and his friends have always ignored these stupid, unwashed masses. These ignorant savages don’t know that abundant, affordable energy in the hands of the private sector cripples the power of government.

It frees individuals to pursue wealth, which in turn creates economic gaps within society. Harry and his comrades believe this is detrimental to their goal of universal equality.

For five decades “evening the playing field” has driven the Democratic agenda.

They have actively managed to eliminate the grading system in schools, competition for government contracts, even score keeping in playground sports. Rather than immersing children in English, the basic building block of success, they implemented bi-lingual education.

They don’t believe success should be rewarded, or that the industrious should benefit from their labors. To this end they concocted affirmative action, diversity, and multi-culturalism to reward opportunity to those who can’t compete on an even playing field.

They can’t acknowledge the intrinsic differences between the genders because doing so is counter-productive to the goals of socialism. Even the mention of a Supreme Being sends shivers down their backs.

Every piece of legislation they propose is designed to undermine the rewards of success. They are not about building opportunity; they are about distributing opportunity.

Taxation, for Harry and his friends, is their weapon of choice to destroy incentive. And they want the price of oil so high that no one can afford it. That’s their definition of equality and the fast lane for the government’s consolidation of private wealth.
