Simple Observations

The following list of non sequitur observations is simply that, observations. Some naturally trigger questions that the media never gets around to asking. Maybe they go unasked because the media doesn’t care for the answers.

Drug Testing
Most American businesses require a job applicant to pass a blood/drug test before being hired and are subject to future random testing as a condition of employment. Why aren’t applicants for government welfare, or for that matter, any public assistance required to do the same?

Is it possible that they are on public assistance because they can’t pass the drug tests?

Subaru
Without liberal support, it’s doubtful that Subaru would survive. Keep an eye out! The bumper stickers placed on them by their owners near universally tout Senator Obama, Senator Clinton or other Democratic candidates. Animal rights and environmental slogans are also commonly displayed on Subaru’s.

Racist Labels
It’s understandable why African Americans are excited by the prospects of the first black candidate being in strong contention for the Oval Office. Senator Obama is winning the votes of about 96% of the black electorate. They are obviously voting for him because of his race and maybe because of his politics.

This begs the question: Why aren’t black voters decried as racists if they vote for him?

TV Commercials
Have you noticed that the characters depicted in TV commercials that are incompetent, clumsy, or stupid are always white males. Asians play neutral roles and blacks and women are portrayed as intelligent problem solvers.

Tenure
Just about every person employed by government is protected from termination by tenure or civil service laws. Most American tax payers would agree that government delivers few quality services efficiently. Thus, it’s reasonable to ponder if job security encourages lackadaisical, sub-standard performance, or if the incompetent are attracted to tenured positions out of a sense of self-preservation.

Carbon Credits
It seems that the super wealthy are the most vocal alarmists about global warming. And they are all big proponents of carbon credits. These credits are actually private donations to companies dedicated to re-forestation and renewable, non-carbon generating energy technologies.

It’s nice that these wealthy environmentalists compensate our nation for their outlandish energy usage. Hey, just a second! Wouldn’t the planet be better off if these jet-setting alarmists immediately reduced their energy consumption (carbon footprint)?

Not to be a cynic, but it seems that buying carbon credits entitles the wealthy to maintain their “me first” lifestyle, while condemning everyone else for consumption.

A Good Omen

Senator Clinton’s campaign is in shambles and she is nearly out of ammunition. The queen of the Democrats is being stoned in the public square. There is a sweet irony here. The retribution being hurled at her was stolen from her stockpile.

The Clinton machine controlled the rules in the Democratic playbook. They expected to ride into the White House on her gender. They calculated that Hillary’s option to wear a skirt would provide a Teflon coating and cement the feminist vote.

It almost worked. She dispatched the white, male candidates in the first few debates. They were toothless—sent packing because they were scorned for attacking a woman. That’s a no-no in the politically correct world the Clintons groomed and thrive in.

But Senator Obama holds the trump card. In the world of political correctness ethnicity trumps gender. The Clintons knew this, but dismissed Obama’s chances. Rightfully, they saw he had no money, no organization and no experience.

Nor could the Clintons conceive that white voters would pull the Obama lever. They fell victim to their own propaganda, which deliberately incites racism and rancor, and postulates that blacks need white protectors. They bet on racism, expecting this Democratic strategy to keep African Americans in their camp.

Michelle Obama’s “no pride in America” statement substantiates that many had been duped by this propaganda. But those who fabricated it should have known better. The Clintons’ mistake can be written off to arrogance—their belief that they could fool everyone any time they wanted.

It seems they were all surprised by the white rejection of the racist innuendo perpetuated by the Democrats for decades; and that so many blacks believe in themselves. That’s a good omen for America.

Senator Obama’s presumptive nomination is a backlash against racism and the policies that undermine black accomplishment. But don’t believe that his nomination will immediately benefit black Americans. Other than pride in their ancestry and a greater insight into white America’s values, they have gained little.

The big winner is Middle America. They have been freed from the slur of racist epitaphs by demonstrating (with their votes) that racism is more a political device than a reality. The cynicism of the Democrats’ divide and conquer strategy has been exposed.

Change takes time. It will be years before it is near universally agreed that the Democrats undermined its African American constituency for five decades.

Senator Obama’s nomination provided all Americans with the opportunity to unmask the deceit. And for that the nation should be thankful.

The Great Hope

The Clintons have bet the primary election on Americans being racist. In case anyone missed it, they began emphasizing the fact that Senator Obama is black. Who knew?

Typical of liberals, they played the race card in South Carolina. They blamed Hillary’s crushing defeat on black voters casting their ballots for Senator Obama only because he is black. They are correct. The black electorate took the opportunity to vote for the first viable black Democratic presidential hopeful.

If Senator Obama was a Republican running in the general election, many traditional black Democrats would cross party lines to vote for him.

It’s natural and predictable to be self-serving. That is how everyone votes. How many evangelicals voted for Governor Huckabee? How many Mormons will vote for Governor Romney? And how many Catholics voted for Kennedy because he was a Catholic?

The Clintons inferred that whites will shun Obama because he is black. Therefore he cannot win the general election. They submit that the Democrats will be defeated if Senator Obama wins the primary election because Americans are racists first and foremost.

The Democrats have played the race card for fifty years. They thrive on racism. They need racism. Most all their social initiatives insinuate that blacks need special protection. The Democrats need blacks to feel dependent—to feel helpless.

In truth, the Democrats have convinced blacks that Americans judge everyone by the color of their skin. The Congressional Black Caucus is a shining example of the Democratic strategy.

It’s emblematic of the Democratic “them vs. us” mentality that pigeon holes blacks as victims.

By promoting racism, the liberals have smothered black opportunity. And that is exactly what the Clintons are doing now.

If Obama is elected, the Democratic Party will be left in shambles. His election would dispel the myth the liberals have perpetuated for decades—that whites overwhelmingly reject other races, especially blacks.

Americans aren’t racists, they are realists. They judge people on their initiative, their values, their moral code, their principles, their education and their success. Senator Obama and his family are a class act. The vast majority of Americans would welcome them to their neighborhood, to their dinner table.

Senator Obama can’t win the primary race without white support. Let’s hope he wins. The greatest benefit his nomination would bring to America is stirring the faith of blacks in themselves. And that’s what is standing between all of us and the end of the race conversation.

Senator Obama is the great hope of white and black Americans. Were he not a tax-and-spend socialist, inexperienced, pro-amnesty and naïve about terrorism, he would win the general election in a landslide. And the recent Kennedy endorsement suggests he will be dragged into the bitterness of the old Democratic alliance.

Were he a Republican, this nation would flourish for eight years.
